RE: Do they fly realistic?

Eric,
Yes they do fly like the full scale versions, well sort of. I am a Rotor Wing CFI, so when I bought a Walkera 4-3 I was anxious to see if it would behave like the other full scale birds...

RE: my heli still won't lift

I had a Walkera that acted like it had a bad battery, causing a loss of rotor RPM, and which usually occurred after about 2 minutes of flight. I bought a new battery thinking that would solve the...

RE: Looking for something different

Thanks for the info guys. I like the Air Flair large scale planes. I thought about the Super Flying King, but as noted, it has a really big wing. I would assume it flies good, since I built a Delta...

Looking for something different

Last week, I crashed my 84" span plane, which was a scratch built design that I really liked. Although I like its looks, I've had nothing but trouble from it every weekend, culminating in some type...

RE: Shutting the engine using choke?

Once I had to shut off my Fuji 64 with the choke after the kill switch ground wire failed. Since the engine is inverted in my plane, the plug was too wet to fire when I tried to start it after...

RE: help - need your opinion on the Fuji BT64A magneto

I've got a BT 64A in a scratch built 1/4 scale that weighs in at 18 pounds. Mine turns a Bolly 24 X 10 with no problems and pulls the plane around with ease. I have found that hand starting on the...

RE: Using the 10mm adapter bolt

I don't know what brand of spinner you have, but my Tru Turn spinner had to have the backplate reamed to .394 inches. Depending on the prop, it may have to be reamed also. Trying to drill it might...

RE: velocity stack

One other point about a stack, it can be tuned similar to a tuned exhaust. It takes some calculating, but it will increase power if tuned properly. The downside is that when tuned, it only works best...

RE: Best oil content

I blend my own fuel, and use Klotz for the oil content. I use 16%, as per their instructions of using 15 to 18% total oil. If I were running store bought fuel, I'd run 18% as per OS's instructions....

RE: pcm vs standard FM

I use a PCM receiver in my plane for peace of mind. Our field is pretty much away from populated areas, so I set my Failsafe to go to 20% power and a little left rudder, which will put it into a slow...

RE: Erratic BT 64

Bill,
I checked for play in the bearings, and can't find more than .002. I haven't started it yet since gaping the Magneto pickup and extra .004, but I'm sure it will clear now. The surging I...

Erratic BT 64

On its fourth flight, my BT 64 began to run erratic. It was about 2 minutes into the flight when the engine slowed, and then came back up. It did this a second time, and I brought it in for...

RE: Delta wing aircraft

I built the Delta Vortex by Bruce Tharpe. In my opinion, its the best overall performing airplane I've flown. I have well over 200 flights on it, and have never had a problem except for one dead...

RE: Home-brewing fuel

For what its worth, I make my fuel, 15% Nitro, 20% oil, for about $13.00 per gallon. I buy Nitro and Methanol from VP Racing Fuels in San Antonio, Texas, which is 60 miles from where I live. Seems...

RE: Best 40 - 60 ARF for flying on windy days

I love my Delta Vortex for windy conditions. I've flown it in 15 MPH+ winds on several ocassions. It seems to track better than my Ultra Stick 60, especially in cross wind conditions. The only...
