The dog bones are notoriously week by design, if you want better durabillity get the ball drive upgrade kit. It's a lot better at dealing with the high stress level.

From your describtion, it sure sounds like it's broken.
That or your transmitter settings are screwed up (mine has adjustable mid point and left/right range settings. But then again it's unlikely...

Just to clarify on the diff-locking grease.
It doesn't exactly "lock" the diff - rather it provides som degree of power tranference from the wheel that's spinning to the wheel that got traction....

I'm pretty satisfied with mine. They aren't indestructable, far from it - but all in all they hold up pretty well. Some things need changing right away though, the shock oil being the most important...
