I've used mine without trouble since the upgrade. There are definitely easier li-po chargers to use, but the 969 works fine.

MRC posts PDF instructions for all chargers except the 977. I'm going to email them to see if they will add it to their list.

I have a 969 and have had no problems at all with NiMH or NiCad batteries. In fact, it's a great charger and I love it. Just don't use it on LiPo's.

Yeah, it takes off from the ground just fine. It works better with the Great Planes wheels than the wheels that came in the kit, though. All-around, it's a neat little plane. :D
