I think I will! :)

Have to get ahold of a guy on here that flys in my area... haven't talked to him in a bit, but he was always really helpful before.

Started the nexstar last night... and...

RE: Tail rotor setup, Rap 60?

You will get mixed answers on that...some say 0 pitch, some say 4.5mm to provide compensation at servo center. I do 0 pitch, so that the pitch is the same on them at servo ends...this does though,...

RE: RC Helicopter Tech Needed

Well, time has passed since I lasted posted in this thread...(who dug this up, and why?)

But heres my take.

RE: What is your favorite maneuver

I used to be impressed by all the inverted 3d stuff. Not so much anymore.

It seems that most pilots rush to get to the 3d and never master smooth normal flight. My favorite maneuver is the...

RE: Servos & Gyro for .30 and .50

Jared...

Ok? So he's a beginner...means he should be reading, and being assisted by a non-beginner. Shouldnt be an issue. If hes going it completely alone, he wont have the time to burn out...

RE: Crunching Balsa

actually, it was built perfect.

Better glue and covering would have meant more collateral damage and harder repairs. Even I could have that wing back together in no time, and I suck with...

RE: Be carefull with training stands!

I think training stands are bad ideas.

They teach bad habits. They teach you to expect a safety net. Learning to fly these days is easier than ever, if you can't learn in a normal fashion, you...

RE: Raptor 30 or Raptor 50??

The 50/30 share almost every part.

The main differences are

Longer tail boom (and belt)
Longer Blades
Different Gears
Different Motor Mount

There a couple of other little things,...

RE: Raptor 30 or Raptor 50??

Also, keep in mind that a 50 is a 30 with a few changes..

If you get a 30 to start....upgrading it to a 50 isnt that expensive later. Its about $100 for the hardware changes (tail boom, belt,...

RE: Raptor 30/50 and scale fuses

Also, there is an eCCPM conversion for the Raptor 30/50 for like 80 bucks, gets rid of the pitch arm completly, but makes the overall width of the frame a bit wider...

Can find that here:...

RE: Raptor G2 Heli Shakes at low RPM, Help?

The blades wont be perfectly straight out untill closer to full throttle...they might look close, but they arent. Once they straight out, it smooths out, its fine, on any helicopter.

RE: Cheap micros worth it?

If you want to fly real helis (well, bigger rc helies i mean) than dont invest in a 2 or 3 channel bird.

Pick up a blade CX2, around 200 dollars.

If you just want something to toy around...

RE: In-flight power Generators on Helis

I think its over complicating things.

Even with a gas engine, flight times aren't going to be longer than the battery. If you needed longer flights, it would be better to buy a bigger/multiple...

RE: Standard s3004 servos for rappy 30??

Im a fan of saving money where it can be saved.

The majority of people around me told me that i HAD to get fast digitals. Wrong.

I run 3010s in my Raptor. I can (well, not me, im not at...

RE: PAINTING RAPTOR BODY?

Actually, its not terribly difficult to get it to hold paint.

Sand it to like 80 grit all over, then smooth it with like some 200. Clean with alchohol thouroughly, then dish soap.

Use 2...

RE: Servo differences and requirements

i fly 3010s in mine. Work fine for me. No hardcore 3d, but they are cheap (relatively) and work. I just changed over and gave them 6V and they are pretty damned good.

Actually, it does 3d flight. 3 dimentional. forward/back, left/right, up/down.

OUR definition of 3d is different than that of the general population, and is kinda dumb if you think about it. ...
