Just bought a new tach. Homelite reading at 8600 rpms with the 16x8 prop. Guys at the field keep telling me I need to put a g-38 on it. I like the idea of have a weed eater for power, also the g-38...

Homelite is still running strong, I can get the big stick to climb out within 15ft of take off. And can go vertical with ease. Love the Homelite

Put the 16 x 8 prop on, increased the rpm's up to 8200, had to adjust the engine though.

Would it be worth the while to upgrade to an Electronic Ignition to save weight. It already hand starts with ease.

The ARF comes with engine standoff mounts, I didn't use them on mine, and had to add 2 1/4 ounces of lead to the nose and put the battery pack over the fuel tank in the nose.

Just got my New Tower hobbies in the mail the ARF went up to $279.99. Glad I got mine when I did. heres some more detailed pics of the engine. Any one know what gas mix is best 20:1, 32:1, AMS oil....

Great Planes makes the Giant Big Stick, available at Tower Hobbies for $250. My local hobby shop got it for me at $215. Servos are HiTec 645's.
