The GWS Rx will work, but ONLY if you also change your transmitter. I use 2 of them with my JR X388 transmitter. And that is the same if you want to use any receiver.

I have a #35 (shaft drive) and the motor drives the tail rotor. No motor = no tail rotor.

But I see the #36 uses to main gears (like the T-Tex), so the tail rotor...

OK, you unplug the battery and motor wires from the battery and motor, and just leave them.

The battery then plugs into the ESC, and the ESC plugs into the receiver.

Yes,

Channel 3 should have nothing it it. That is where you connect.

Normally there is nothing in channel 3 because the receiver also has the speed controller built in.

Yep, brother has all digital servos in his 40% plane models, and when ya have about 15 of them (large ones), they draw a bit of power.
