i have the xrs on my stampede with the stock motor and have had no problems, i think it is a good esc for the price.

i would use around 35 or 40 wt. are the jumps you do on cement? because if they are on cement i would put a higher wt oil in to prevent it from bottoming-out during the landing, but if its on grass...

the brand of oil doesnt really matter, just make sure it is the same weight as the other shocks(the heavier the weight, the more resistance the shocks have, and the lighter, the less resistance)....

i have a stampede and i got the hot bodies micro peak charger ($80 cdn) and venom racing 3300 mah nihm ($50 cdn) and have no complaints with either of them. have fun with you stampede and good luck.
