RE: The giant 8 engine B-52 has chrashed [Video]

Not sure if this was a B-52, but there is some video of a pretty large plane crashing into one of the Great Lakes (I'm gonna guess around chicago) during an airshow. Anybody remember that?

RE: how to mount the mount engine that is

I built my 4*40 from a kit. When I put in the firewal, it rested against some wood on the fuse to make an easy fit, yet there is no downthrust. It was my first kit, and it was built like crap, but...

RE: LA 40/4*40

a 46FX is on mine. It flys very fast. I'm sure a 40la will make it flyable. I am usually around half-throddle the entire time anyways

RE: Where did all the kits go?

I know the uproar has permanently attached wings, does the SE also have attached wings? I use a pretty small car with folding-rear seats to haul my plane, so if they wings dont attach, i dont know if...

RE: Looking to build a 4 * 40

4* is very easily contructed. Just be careful with the wing. When i tried connecting the 2 halves, i glues it crooked, and had to get a professional to fix it. As for covering, i was worried about...

RE: questions about my Sig 4* 40

The CG should be right on the main spar of the wing. It doesnt really affect it much if it's noseheavy. I just maidened mine noseheavy and she still flies great. I believe tailheavy is where you run...

RE: Where did all the kits go?

I know i sound cheap when i say the Sig SE is expencive, but when i could get a fairly decent ARF (Say, the Hangar 9 Twist) for the same price? All you're really paying for in a kit is the wood and...

Where did all the kits go?

As fall approaches (Sorta), i'm starting to think about buying a kit to build to keep me busy on my off time. I've only built one other kit (4*40 which i sucked at). That kit was about 70$. I've been...

RE: Turn towards direction of plane?

I just think that sometime you're going to have to learn to understand the plane. Turning with the plane is kind of cheating. I think it's easiest to just imagine you're in the plane.

RE: You're not a true 4-star owner until..

I told the instructor to let me handle it. He's a great guy, knows tons about planes (And proceeds to do a barrel roll out of takeoffs with people's trainers!). I trust him more than anyone at the...

RE: 4* 40 or 60

I was out of hobby for 3 years, and just this week took my 4*40 up for it's maiden, and also my maiden! In the first flight, i let the instructor take off, but i could handle it with ease (Though it...

You're not a true 4-star owner until..

Took my 2nd plane (4star40) up for it's maiden today. I am still kind of learning, so i was buddy-boxed. Things went very well, and i had a blast flying the plane! It does land pretty easily. Anywho,...

RE: Bending control rods

I think i'm going to try and bend it at a 90 degree angle, and then slide that into the control horn. As for the pianowire, my LHS is Hobbytown USA!!!! Of course they dont actually carry pushrods!...

Bending control rods

Today i had the misfortune of having a Quicklink lose it's screw on my throddle (Which wasnt too bad, i got to fly around on full throddle for 5 mins), so i dont want to use quick links on the engine...

RE: Tower Uproar Arf?

I think i'm going to stick with the Uproar (For now). I still havent even maidened my 2nd plane (4*40). So once i'm able to handle that, i'll take up the Uproar. I know this is looking far into the...
