RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

Checked that... inlet manifold is rock solid in the head, no movement. Any other ides? Does the highspeed needle effecting idle indicate anything you know of?

This is a fairly new .72 and has...

Hi Guys,

I have a troublesome Saito 72 and I really need some help! Always ran like clockwork (had it for about 2 years, flown about 30-40 times??), but recently has been giving me trouble on...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

Hi Mr Ed - I use a 15x8 on my Saito 1.20 in a 120 sized Cap 232 and it's a pretty good combo. Will not hover, but seems to have good vertical performance. I have not tried a 14x8, but it might be a...

RE: Bird Strike with Big Stik 60

I test ran the motor on the weekend.. and it's running beautifully. Exactly the same as before the crash! I am amazed, as I actually hand-straightened the spray bar to get the carb barrel rotating...

RE: Bird Strike with Big Stik 60

Hi Charlie,

I wasn't chasing the hawk, I was just flying along, minding my own business.. pulled up for a loop and just collided with it. My bird died... the HAWK didn't have a scratch!

On...

RE: Bird Strike with Big Stik 60

Here are the pics of the damaged wing.. not as dramatic as the pics of the fuse. The balsa sheeting on the leading edge was punched in, a wing tip snapped and a wing bolt hole ripped out.. other...

RE: Bird Strike with Big Stik 60

Reincarnate, the muffler is the stock Super Tigre unit that came with the .61. It's a bit of a can, but works great and actually survived the crash unscathed.. so it's durable too!

RE: Bird Strike with Big Stik 60

I'll see if I can get some pics of the wing too.. bit of a non-event tho, limited damage done to it.

RE: Bird Strike with Big Stik 60

Yeah, I am sure it would have been sore.. but honestly, it just shrugged it off and kept flying! I would have felt horrible if it had gone down as well.. glad it didn't. :)

Bird Strike with Big Stik 60

Das Big Stik 60 ist Kerschtunken!

I hit a hawk with the Big Stik 60 on the weekend... my favourite plane is dead! I was flying level at full throttle (Super Tigre ringed .61) and pulled up to...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

Can the same be said for the Saito 120s - a 16 x 6 prop is the best choice? Is there much difference in performance between the 125 & 120s?

RE: My Lanier Giant Extra 330 crash

From gboulton, he states:

"At 2100 rpm the DA-20 does 90 kts when trimmed to 2 notches above center. it does that in a 10 kt headwind, still conditions, a 5 kt cross wind, or a 20 kt tail wind....

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

Hi there, so I should not expect this plane to be transformed by replacing the Saito 120 with a 150? i.e. do you believe I will see a marked difference?

Cheers

1. Screw it in all the way, but do so gently. Once you feel resistance from closing, stop.
2. Attach a piece of fuel tubing to the carby...
