I have lost all faith in Ultracote on Florida...

I have lost all faith in Ultracote on Florida airframes. Monokote covered airplanes, side by side behave quite nicely. Time to get out the heat gun and peel the Ultracote off for the last time!

Cool Sun effects on Ultracote

It was 90 degrees today and 10 minutes in the sun loosened and wrinkled the Ultracote covered, balsa sheeted foam on my 30% Extra (again). I've tried BalsaRite, no- BalsaRite, ironing, heat gun and...

RE: Carl Goldberg PITTS S12 MONSTER

I still have mine, with flying wires and smoke. The Saito 125a just isn't enough power. Considering a 55cc gas engine (ie., DLE 55). What do you think that will be like?

RE: Carl Goldberg -- PITTS S12 MONSTER

Wow! Who's plane was that? I think I did the same thing with mine, that is, if you ran out of fuel. The included tank is so small. Is it fixable or totalled? It flew so well!

RE: Carl Goldberg -- PITTS S12 MONSTER

Thanks for that. I'll check the DA-50 weight. I already have one brick and it's no fun to repair (bricks don't fly well).

RE: Carl Goldberg -- PITTS S12 MONSTER

OK, so I'll do the DA-50 in it. I'll send pictures. Anyone have some words of wisdom before I do it?
(it was your picture of the DA-50 sitting in the cowl that convinced me) Goodbye Saito 125a.

RE: Carl Goldberg -- PITTS S12 MONSTER

OK, why the DA-50 question? Because the Saito 125a I have in mine is not enough and I love 100LL Avgas' aroma (not that I don't like Glo). AND someone posted a picture of the DA sitting in the...

RE: Carl Goldberg -- PITTS S12 MONSTER

A five cylinder gas radial would look and sound great...lots of $$$ ...and too much weight. Is there a single cylinder gas engine that fits in the cowl and provides hovering power? Imagine a big...

RE: JR Announces 2.4Ghz 12 channel & 9 channel radio. X9303 and 12X

Anybody know anything about EPS (Extreme Power Systems) Tx modules and Rx's for our JR, Futaba and Airtronix radios? Rumor at the field is that we can convert all of our radios for "not too much...

RE: 3W 80 Xi

What's the difference: A ZDZ super 80 or a 3W 80 (non TS) pullng a somewhat lightened, but still hefty 30% Carden 300S with Pitts style muffs?

Lustercoat (sic) yellow 7804, two to three light coats over white primer worked for me.

I agree with Jerry about the 3D capabilities. I have more than 45 degrees throw on my control surfaces (elev. mods for rudder) and a Saito 125a four stroke on 30% Nitro. It will perform...

RE: Carl Goldberg -- PITTS S12 MONSTER

I have a Saito 125A in mine. I added TME smoke which I've got working great so far on the ground. I can put it in my Dodge 1500 RAM van, fully assembled with ease. I put it upside down on a furniture...

Pitts Model 12

What's a good set-up for the Goldberg Pitts Model 12 Monster ARF? I'm running a Saito 125a and I need a lot of up-trim under power and less at glide. Current set-up is a few degrees of right thrust,...

Pitts stab incidence?

After needing lots of up trim on the first flights I re-checked the thrust and incidences on the Goldberg Pitts Monster 12 ARF and got zero up/dwn thrust, zero on the bottom wing, +1 on the top wing,...

RE: Do Dave Brown Foam Wheels Ever Puff Up Again?

Me too. Same wheels but 3.5" on a 12lb Pitts 12, still flat after weeks in the drawer. Surprised to hear they get round again after a few T.O's and Ldgs. The Sul. Skylights are staying round with the...

I have that model (Golberg Pitts Monster Model 12) with a Saito 125a engine. It flew only twice so far (yesterday 10/3/06). It needed a lot of up-trim and even though the lateral balance was...

I run 4 digital JR 281 servos on my Phoenix 25 with a TP 3S1P Li-Po battery and have had no problems.

RE: Li-Poly over-discharged

Li-Poly over-discharged

Anyone know how to manage a Thunder Power 2100mAh, 11.1V battery that was accidently over-discharged? I left the ESC switch off but forgot to disconnect the battery. My Triton charger charges it for...
