I purchased a TP60A a few weeks ago for my Somthin Extra conversion. Using a Himax 3528/1000 and a 12/6E prop. I hooked it up to my Watts Up meter before taking to the air and everything checked out...

Yes it did get warm during the static test I did. I flew the Funtana 10 to 12 times and I always check the ESC and the motor after each flight,
the motor was warm but not nearly as...

Get rid of that gear box and go with an outrunner. There are alot of threads on it here, and a bunch of different motors to chose from. Before I got shot down I was running a Himax...

I don't think ejenson180 has read too many of the treads on the Mini Funtana.
As I see it, most everyone loves the plane with the exception of the landing gear.

Ok, here is what I got. All test were done using a Thunder Power 3 cell 2100mah battery,
Phoenix 25 speed control, and of course the Himax 2816-890.
With a 12x6 prop: WOT 19.7amps, 218.67...

I just purchased the Himax 2816-890 for my Mini Funtana. Just have had it with gearboxes.
MPI's literature has this motor listed as capable of putting out 200w. My Funtana's AUW with a Thunder...
