RE: SICKLES RULE

One of my favortie Spads was a Sickle with a Thunder Tiger .36 on a mouse can pipe, That particular engine ran so well it would idle perfectly, then accelerate perfectly, pointing straight up at all...

Buying RTR truck for overseas relative, need advice

As someone who strictly flies R/C planes, I am out of my element here and need some help. I have a cousin who lives in the Azores islands. He's a great guy, and really went out of his way to make my...

RE: Spad building video!

At this point 4 years after his video came out Dale has probably moved onto other things. But I'm sure he has extra copies about and wouldn't mind selling them of course. It's just a matter of...

RE: STTB plans in Word documents

Download the Zip version of the plans on STTB. Then use Irfanview to print the .jpg files. The default settings will automatically adjust everything to fit the page. There's a dozen ways to do it,...

Holy cow, not a visual you often see. I'll be looking out for that video as well. Cool.

RE: Setup on Sickle

In my Sickle heyday, I found that with some practice and experience you can move the CG back as far as 2 1/8". Is it touchy? Yes! But man is it responsive! You can change directions is a hearbeat,...

RE: SPAD made the AMA magazine!

Too bad the word Spad wasn't mentioned, though that looks anything but simple. :)

RE: Yet another DDUST

Before I swapped the gear out of my Ddust, I tried a MCP on a Norvel .25. Fun stuff. Made me sweat a lot though, a bit too stressful for everyday flying, lol.

RE: coro problems

Often if you weigh it down for a few days you can remove the warp. Make it 2' x 2' just like the plans say, it flies great that way. BTW, a little bit of warp shouldn't really be a big deal. I have...

RE: Yet another DDUST

Holy cow, that's a real clean build, that leading edge looks perfect. With that motor and that pipe, that will be one of the fastest Spads to ever take flight!:D

RE: OK , is really going to make a difference ?

I guess that would make a Spad 10 times heavier than a balsa plane. Hmm. Actually, in the typical .40 size arena sport models, the weights are not that off. True, the actual mass of PVC and coro is...

RE: Straight wing Deb

An excellent choice for a second plane. Actually a Deb with 2 wings makes a great 1st and 2nd plane, provided you have an instructor familiar with Spads to check your build.

RE: Spazzler Question

Well I'll have to go out on a limb and say no. It is a great sport plane with 3D'ish capabilities, but it is not a pure 3D ship, if that makes sense. A tad heavy for that. I would compare it to the...

RE: Spazzler progress? pics

Coming along nicely, however I have to agree about the wing. It's that first pic, one side the leading edge drops very low, it will require too much trim to overcome I'm afraid. A new wing may just...

RE: Duraplane on floats

It's an upscaled version of a very popular Spad design called the DPS (DasPlaStick). The wing is made from 4mm and 2mm coroplast with a length of poplar lattice for a spar. The fuselage is 2.5"...
