RE: Help Me Retrain My 52

Thanks, I'll switch sides with the rudder to see if it might be a defective servo in flight. Next week is supposed to be breezeless and a good time for retesting.

RE: Help Me Retrain My 52

A couple of previous owners mentioned they had the same problem and using different flight packs each time. The elevator is tight and servo is new with metal gears. As stated earlier, the engine...

Help Me Retrain My 52" Fusion

I'm the 7th or 8th owner of a beautifully built and maintained Fusion 52 kit, but it will not track in a straight level flight at any speed. Maybe this is why it's been an ugly orphan so many times....

RE: Bungee/Hi-start rubber

Being stuck here in the middle of USA, I might suggest as I did, was to search for a medical/surgical supply company and get their 5/16" or 3/8" surgical tubing. You'll have to do the metteric...

RE: Giantscaleplanes.com

Not bad getting 10% off the $110 price tag. Several months ago I bought their 72" Yak. It's a CMP product but with a glass fuse where the Giles is built up. I can't say the Giles isn't CMP as the...

RE: New Great Planes Revolver

WalMart sells an auto polish called Crystal Clear in paste and liquid. I use the paste that will stay clear to fill and seal trim edges without the white dried residue of older waxes. Simply wax...

RE: Nose Wheel linkage

Metal rod through the tube. It may take a shallow "z" bend in the rod to line up with the control arm.
Don't forget to grind the small flat spot in the nose gear shaft so the steering arm won't...

RE: New Great Planes Revolver

New to this thread and not having the attention span to scan the almost 2000 posts, I've been flying mine for about a year with a Jett 46 and their factory pipe not showing any bad habits in slower...

RE: now the cowl!

What are you calling too close since you didn't say the spinner rubbed the cowl ? Is the spinner flat back or recessed ?
I try to have the spinner gap between 1/16 to 3/32"

RE: Hanger 9 Cub .40 with Magnum .91 4 Stroke?

I flew mine for several years with a TT 54 4c before I traded it off. When that tail pops up in about 5 feet of roll-out, there wasn't too much prop free space to the ground. You might want to check...

RE: engine dies when ignitor disconects

You need a new plug.
Your 2.5 turn setting is close enough. The plug has an oxidized build-up on the coil and without the volt boost, there's not enough heat to keep running. Contrary to popular...

RE: J-3 CUB ARF

You can use any size or manufacture of servo as long as it's for Futaba, Hitec or JR.

RE: Top Flite Staggerwing

A fellow club member lost the 2+ lb lead ballast mid flight. He said it became rather unstable and at about 10' it nosed in. Makin them fly again has always saved me...

RE: Willhobby Edge 540 t - 90-120

Rich,
Sounds as if you've got a keeper there. Hope you have many good flights with it. My Edge gear has not shown any tendency to spread, but the WillHobby Extra was very weak and I did the...

RE: Help with throttle servo setup

Cub,

All you can do is have a very small gap showing on the throttle barrel opening till you start it up and get the low end idle screw and main jet set. Then you can adjust the throttle trim...

RE: Willhobby Edge 540 t - 90-120

Rich,

My B/Y Edge and Extra came this past March and I had to wait till late April to trim them. The Edge has a ST 90 and with the pull pull rudder servo mounted under the wing, the cg came...

RE: Will this work?

Sorry Tom, that 40# flying weight is way too heavy for a G62. My planes using the 62's were in the 20# flying weight range. What scale is the Stearman to be that heavy ? You'd be closer with a...

RE: Top Flite Clear Coat

Lately I've been using the clear wax/polish from the WalMart auto section (not cheap though). I prefer the paste wax version since it is a little cheaper than the liquid and seems to seal all edges...

RE: WillHobby Extra 330 1.4 ARF

RE: WillHobby Extra 330 1.4 ARF

There was still room to cut a new elevator servo opening to miss the other servo and be above the rudder cables. I left about 3/16" of wood below the factory covered opening where I cut the new...

RE: skybolt engine

Assuming you've got the larger GP Skybolt, I'd vote for the cheaper but still good quality/power Magnum 91 4c or the Surpass 91. I flew my older and heavier Sig Skybolt with the now extinct Magnum...

Just went to...
