Graupner DS 586 BB

The Graupner DES 586 BB are almost a drop in fit!
I used them all around the Avanti S Mini together with Futaba parts and Bavarian Demon :-)

My Elan is from 2007 out of the first batch shipped, and it's still going strong with Jetcat P-120 se!
I stopped counting the numbers of flights :D

I used innertube for bike tires several times for making rubber hings for my jets.

You can also make big holes in the rubber this will help moving the rubber hinge (less force needed to bend)

Peel ply can also be used as hinges. If you place a 15-25mm wide piece of peel ply along the hinge line between to layers of cloth, the nylon will be glued to the glass or carbon cloth with epoxy...

All the Skymaster live hings are factory installed with Peel ply..... ( At least at my Large Viperjet)

And as I know a few german manufacturers I know this is commonly used for live hings.........

Hello Rich,

No this is not the way I apply the peel ply fabric.

Use a 2cm wide tear-off fabric wet it out with epoxy, I diden't have issues combine it with laminating resin.

I have build quite a few Elan's never shim the tail???
Like Mike mentioned I glued the anti rotation pins always to stop the movement of the tails....

Make sure you align the turbine...
