RE: FSR nitro boat ?

Yes, sure it is a FSR-V 15 class boat. The hull maybe is a delfino or something around. I would say this is a boat from the late 80s or maybe begining of 90s. The fuel´s thank size is OK for a 30...

RE: OS 46 MAX glow plug

May be I am wrong, but I think the turbo glow plug has a M8X0,75. At least this are the tapes I use.

RE: .21 Mono - Gear Drive or Direct Drive?

These are some examples of the gearboxes a make. Now I can do the gears, but some years ago I didn´t have such a possibility and I ordered the gears, the steel gear with the flywheel and the delrin...

RE: .21 Mono - Gear Drive or Direct Drive?

I never used such a gearbox. In the past I used mocom gearboxes and now when I need I make them. The main thing is the engine should be mounted in a flat surface and the the distance between gears....

RE: .21 Mono - Gear Drive or Direct Drive?

The dimensions of the hull are important to determinate if would be better to use a gearbox or not. Assuming a standard 2:1 ratio for a .21 gearbox you will use allways a much bigger prop and the...

RE: Need Help First Boat Ever Undertaken

Once in the 80s I raced a geared webra speed 20. I made the gearbox and I only can say this was a wonderfull engine. I still have it. The gearbox was inspired on the speedy 1.8

RE: Need Help First Boat Ever Undertaken

Hi
This hull is for sure a multi racing class hull, probably from the the begining of the 80s. It is no longer competitive, but it will be a nice sport rc boat.
Prestwich models offers you a wide...

RE: 21VZ B P-T V-Spec for .21 rigger?

RE: What hull is this??

Yes there is difference, but this is important for racing. For sport use a plastic propeller is OK.

RE: What hull is this??

Usually the shape of the blades is different as they work in different conditions

RE: What hull is this??

I don´t know the age of this boat, but the type of the the hull´s shape that is in the photo is about 38 years old. The size and type of the propeller I gave you is a starting point. As everybody...

RE: What hull is this??

Let´s imagine the engine is in good shappe. I would mount a mocom Propeller 1816 ( you can buy at prestwich models UK) a fuel tank and would go to the pound. A 25% nitro fuel with at least 15%...

RE: What hull is this??

It would be good if you could show the bottom of the hull.
About the engine I can say only two things. It seems to me to be a .21 with one "OS" type carb and you will have some work to put the...

RE: MDS 3.5 (.21) Glow Marine Engine

I have some. This is what I do. First of all change the bearings, after change the conrod ( force.21 works great). Forget the carb I use an OS. The exhaust timming should be at least more tha 170...

RE: Project 2 Backup Plan

The exhaust timming should be about 180 deg, so you must cut the upper part of the exhaust port till you get it. This should be done very carefully. I race in FSR multirace so I don´t have too much...

RE: Project 2 Backup Plan

If the boat is the Speedmaster .21 I think it should be any .21 engine. In this case the Force .21 . With a .21 engine you will have a boat which can compete in the .21 offshore class, but with a .26...

RE: Project 2 Backup Plan

I saw already some pictures of the boat you are talking, but I never saw anyone. I have some experience with Force engines and they need some tunning before they begin to put the power out, in stock...

RE: New project model unknown

It seems to be a Graupner Maxi Speed from the 80s converted to take a glow engine. If this engine is in good shape the power is quite enough. If you will need to mount a new engine I think a new .12...
