You can go a step further with your radio. Don't just remove the spring. Most radios have an optional ratchet that you can install. Just a screw and a metal spring arm that rides on a toothed cam...

I talked to the actual manufacturer of that ESC last year. It is not programmable like the widely-circulated instructions say it is. It is pre-programmed as a helicopter ESC for 3? lipos. You can...

For epoxy to bond to ABS, you would need to sand well, the inside of the cracked area with 100-125 grit (medium) sandpaper so the epoxy will physically bond with it. Epoxy alone is pretty brittle....

Understand that I may be considered less than "objective" in my assessment since I make the kit, but... It has a unique floor reinforcement that makes the hull bottom as rigid as some fiberglass...
