Big wheels, bad idea. Wasted an hour and they are too heavy. I went with Darroll Cady's tempered aluminum. He said they gave more clearance than the standard gear. Just need to brush up on the...

RE: Viper Landing gear

Thanks Dan. I have the firewall covered. A little aluminum angle iron on the two top joints, plus the plywood on top should do the trick. I still want a little more clearance on the muffer tail pipe....

RE: Viper Landing gear

My machinist friend for 30 years said it would be better to have a 4" wheel instead of re-fabricating a different landing gear. Just an FYI to people following this post. It will work better on grass...

RE: Viper Landing gear

Bob, after the last 424 race, I had Clyde put in an extra thick firewall. He did a great job and fiberglassed inside and out. I thought it would never come out again, but the top popped right out on...

Viper Landing gear

I am tired of popping out the firewalls on a not so perfect landing. The stock landing gear has no clearance for the muffler and I suppose it is illegal to cut it off. A slight bump on landings...

RE: Spectrum D6 question
