RE: Boomerang Elan???

I set my CG as per the manual and have never moved it apart from adding a smoke pump behind the main tank, along with its 2 cell 2100mah Lipo. So, it will have moved back a little, but not by much.

RE: New products from Al's Hobbies. Any good???

Ali,
I like both of these ideas, but to add my voice to a request earlier in the post, what about a pump, filter and valve holder, that we could then simply mount to the airframe somewhere. Most...

RE: Tail protection for wet starts

I had forgotten all about this thread.
I really liked the idea of starting up and taxing away, collecting the pipe after the flight once it had time to cool.
So, this is what I came up with, it...

RE: Conflicting CG data, Need more opinions please..

Pete,
I have the SM F18c and was asking about the CG before I first flew her.
One person replied that he had slowly moved his CG back a considerable amount (I can't remember the actual measurment...

RE: JR GURUS HELP!!! Programming JR12X for proportional braking and doing it right....

Hi,
I am not using proportional breaking, but the flight mode solution will work with proportional breaking if required.
What it will do is prevent air loss during inverted/down elevator...

RE: JR GURUS HELP!!! Programming JR12X for proportional braking and doing it right....

Hi all,
I use a different aproach.
I use flight modes, tafeoff, flight and land. (you can even rename the mode on a 12x if you wish).
In takeoff mode I enable the mix which is then applied in...

RE: JR12X or FUTABA 14MZ

Very interesting debate. I have always used JR, 347 then a 16/20, 388, 9x2 (us 9303) and now a 12x.
My mate has a 14MZ. He loves his Tx but I find the menus confusing compared to JR. Probably...

RE: how do you keep your ext. out on tail and wings.

RE: New to jets, what do i need to fly a jet??

I agree. There is no better way of understanding a jet setup than to look at one in front of you, open the hatches, look from different angles. A lot of wiring and pipe work is hidden from sight once...

RE: Elan Has Arrived!

I read about that 'missing carbon spar' flight too. Just goes to show how strong the metal pins make this bird.
Rather that shorten the long pin, I would rather have a longer pin for the other side...

RE: Flap deployment

Yup, I agree with mace, I would go for half flap as servo centre, and work from there. You then have end point adjustment for the up and the full flap positions using the matchbox.
These should be...

RE: Flap deployment

Actually, LGM, I have never had this issue either, now you mention it. I prefer to stick with JR servos, had some poor quality 'other' brands in the past. [:-]
This is an interesting one.

RE: I am an Idiot!

Good point ama234,
To get around this I would only use the mix in takeoff flight mode, so it would have no effect in landing mode. I use flight modes on my jets to configure everything so I never...
