RE: The Tango 40 ARF from Hangar 9

What I am having trouble wrapping my mind around is the story behind the accident...hovering 10 feet off the ground when all control was lost, yet the plane accelerated and pulled out of the hover on...

RE: Bell P-39 - British carrier testing ???

I think this is what you are looking for...it was a modified Airacobra made for the Navy and carrier ops. There was only 1 of them ever made and it was burried as landfill...what a shame.

RE: What is it?

It is not a Pawnee. A Piper Pawnee has the same basic rounded tail feathers, center (fusalage) mounted landing gear, and wings as the PA18A-180 Supercub. The wing struts are just on the top side...

RE: Aircraft flying upside down

I cannot remember ever looking at a turn co-ordinator during inverted flight....my head is always outside the cockpit once an aerobatic manuver is started. ;)

You should fly aerobatics by feel,...

RE: Airline pilot shortage

While I do not disagree with your thought process behind many of your comments I must point out that the above statements resemble a pot calling the kettle black. You speak as though you are a...

RE: TCM ad in AOPA

TCM ad in AOPA

Did anyone else notice the 2 problems with the Continental Engines ad in the October edition of AOPA, EAA Sport Aviation, and Trade-A-Plane?

RE: Wazzit?

You started the thread asking what type of airplane this is yet you are quick to say that it is not a modified Skybolt (R) model? I am a little confused...do you know what the airplane is or not? ...

RE: Wazzit?

It looks like a Culps Special with an M14P radial engine instead of the Lyc. It could be a Steen Skybolt (R) as well...the only thing that has me stumped in the upper wing mounting...

RE: Full scale flyers....roll call.

I did not realize that there was a Turbo G3 at Wings of Eagles...I will have to stop in for a ride sometime soon.

RE: Full scale flyers....roll call.

They belong to some friends of mine, but I plan to get one someday.

As far as formation goes...it is a lot of fun to do, but hard work as well. If you plan to fly formation, please get some...

RE: Full scale flyers....roll call.

Saturday was hot, but it was a great day for some fun in the Yak 52. We did some formation passes on the deck and then dropped to extended trail to play follow the leader through some loops and...

RE: Blue Angels Jet crash

Having flown aerobatics and close formation many times in warbirds there are a few things that "seem obvious" in this accident.

1- This was a very experienced and very professional pilot and...

RE: What is this plane

I am very familiar with the T-6 and have quite a few hours in 2 different versions including the SNJ-5B, SNJ-6. I will admit that I am not as familiar with the P-64, but if memory serves me...

RE: What is this plane

It is not a T-6 or T-6 variant. This is a P-64 which was made by North American so it has some similar looks, but a completely different plane.

The "combat" versions were actually gunnery...

Fun in the Yak 52

I flew the Maule over to Moontown for a fly-in today and had a blast. I hooked up with a few buddies on the way and flew some formation with them in their Citabria. While at the fly-in I wound up...

RE: F-117 LG

RE: Why? Why? Why?

Along those same lines...I always remembered it as Green has the Right of way. Helps me remember which side has the green light as well as which converging craft has the priority.
