your best bet will be to start with a soft compound rubber, the lower the degree the tire the softer the compound example a 8 deg. will be softer than a 10 deg. so the 8 degree will have better grip....

yes, the xmod trucks are the same price, I would highly suggest going with the car though, I own the EVO and it is greatly improved over the gen 1 xmod, the truck however it a completely different...
