RE: 4-in-1 vs 3-in-1

Wow, I'm glad you were able to respond seeing how I spelled "drifting"! :)

I don't plan on flying the CP with "idle up". I just want to FLY the darn thing!

RE: 4-in-1 vs 3-in-1

Speaking of which, would a HH gyro help a newbie with flying a CP? When I had mine, it was hard to get the thing from drifint on me!

RE: did i make the right choice?

You see, that's part of my problem. Even if I am a GREAT CX pilot, flying around in my living room or garage just doesn't sound much fun to me. I want to stretch this thing out! I want to watch it...

RE: did i make the right choice?

For sure you made the right decision. I'm considering moving up to a CP, only because you can't really fly the CX in any kind of wind. By the time I get off work, it's evening and there's always...

RE: Swashplate Position on CX

Update...

I don't have any holes in my outer shaft. Well I do... one at the top and one at the bottom! [>:]

So I slide the swash plate all the way to the bottom, so it's resting on top of...

RE: Should I Take The Next Step?

Choppers,

So the fact that you have about 5 helis and a few planes hanging on the wall has nothing to do your passion for flying??? Just kidding, but I thought *I* was a chopper nut. Maybe...

RE: Should I Take The Next Step?

Good points ball all. Soloboss, so now that you look back, are you ready to tackle a CP again?

RE: Eflite Blade CX

By "play" you mean it turns with great ease? Then yes, that's where the stationary parts (servo arms) control the rotating part (rotor hub). As for the bottom looking like something is missing......

RE: More pictures of my Blade CP

How much are those carbon blades going for these days? Also, what did you wrap your antenna wire around?

Lastly, is that two heat sinks I see on the motor?

RE: Eflite Blade CX

Husker,

I'm fairly new to Heli's as well. I can tell you, however, that they really don't change pitch to begin with. My CP would change dramatically, but my CX doesn't change at all. These...

RE: New projects

Soooooo, dumb question. What helicopter do those bodies fit on to? I'm still fairly new to R/C heli's but my goal is to fly scale helicopters. I don't care to do 3D and stuff, I just want to pilot...

RE: Eflite Blade CX

That's kind of like my most recent crash that has wrecked my bird. It clipped a power line, broke a blade in half, and dropped nose first into the ground. It was the worst crunch I've heard thus...

RE: Eflite Blade CX

Ranger, I too have done some damage to mine, but never have a stripped a gear. Are you killing the throttle right before impact?

RE: Swashplate Position on CX

See, I didn't even know there were holes in the outer shaft! I only LOOSENED the screws so the lower assembly would slip up/down. Thanks Busa!

RE: Should I Take The Next Step?

That's a good idea. He lives a couple of towns away, but maybe he'll bring it to work with him!

You see, I figured that a CP should at least get off the ground and somewhat stay airborne. ...

Should I Take The Next Step?

Thank you for taking the time to read and comment on this thead. I'll keep this brief....

A year ago I bought a Blade CP and was discouraged with how hard it was to fly, combined with what...

Swashplate Position on CX

Please help me remember. After taking apart my CX, I've run into a potential problem. Where should the swashplate and lower rotor assembly be in relation to the outer shaft? I've got it where the...

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr I am so freakin P.O.'d right now that I have to vent. All afternoon I've been fighting this stuid CX. First I changed out the inner shaft because it was bent towards the...

RE: Blade CX-2

Harvick,

I think you're heading into this with the right frame of mind. If you enjoy it half as much as I do, downtown to knuckle-head crashes are aggrivating. I enjoy keeping mine in the air...

Thanks, futura, thanks for rubbing it in! Your 9 year old flies it smoother than I do, and I"m 20 years his senior!

RE: Blade CX-2

You're right, bzyguy, just go out and fly these things! They're still a $180 TOY! How much performance are you going to squeeze out... seriously... come on!

RE: Blade CX-2

See? I knew you'd be able to answer my question bzyguy. So bench testing will give the same results as flying it around in your garage. If the motors are the same temprature with or without the...

RE: Okay all you CX-2 owners!

So far I've been reading about a few improvements. Apparently they've got the thing dialed in better so you're not having to tweak the 4-N-1 computer to keep the tail straight. Also, and...

Good job on the thorough test, bzyguy!

I'm not trying to come off as the devil's advocate, but I do have a couple of questions. Because you're certified to take these readings, I trust you'll...
