RE: Deals

Just click on generators, its the first one 800W. Maybe this will work. They have some nice inexpensive engines, too.

RE: Homelite 25/30 and Spinner Nuts(Safety Spinner)

Some auto parts stores will carry engine studs of that size and in various lenghts. Very strong and inexpensive. I know thatthe Napa down the street from my house does.

RE: Lathe

Woo hoo! I just scored a 7"x12" mini lathe that had been seriously enhanced with ball bearings and such. Now I gotta figure out how to use it and make hubs for me and my fellows.

RE: Ducting a weedie? More out of the box thinking.

So I found some pics on the net of the Fan Trainer, but I am not sure what size prop to use with that configurationa nd want to design around that and the wing size. I was considering putting my...

RE: Ducting a weedie? More out of the box thinking.

Cool! I have seen one of those built and hanging in a local store. I like the design very much and may attempt something like it in the future, also.

RE: Ducting a weedie? More out of the box thinking.

tkg,
Actually, that is in line with what I was thinking...but much uglier;) thanks for the link.

Cameron,
My original DF idea was not for a real DF, rather a DF looking set up. But, Dave got...

RE: Ducting a weedie? More out of the box thinking.

Yikes, out of the box indeed. I did figure weight to be an issue as I wasn't considering that we would get as much thrust as a true ducted fan glow engine. I like the idea of using a large torquey...

Ducting a weedie? More out of the box thinking.

So I was sitting in class wondering, would be possible to take one of our engines and place it in a duct successfully? I figure a good candidate for this experiment would be a 25cc 2bbl Toro swinging...

So I am aware that the 14cc Kioritz engine that I have is anemic. However, I am interested in maybe getting another one to make a twin prop airplane with the two. Do any of you know where I can get...

RE: Kioritz and other engine conversion parts

As for the 14cc beastie, how does running two of them on one plane sound? I want to do a twin, and two little guys would probably fit the bill, no? I also want to run it on gas/methanol. I guess that...

RE: Kioritz and other engine conversion parts

After doing some research here I have decided that the three bigger engines are Poulans. The only thing that sucks is that they have the dreaded spring retained exhaust. IS there anything that I can...

RE: Shorten the stroke. Good idea?

I already copied the info on how to sup up the engine. Thanks! I will likely run it semi stock first. I don't want to get caught up in the tinker and no fly vortex....if I can I will fly in winter...

Could we diesel?

I was surfing around the diesel forum and found out some interesting things. One is that the diesels are bullet proof and run a long time on a tank of gas while giving great power. There are...
