Here is one of our first parts;
Lay up is 9 oz. and 3 oz. sandwich in epoxy with 6mm diviny foam in flat areas, vacuum bagged.

Weight is good and stiffness is great.

We have just done something similar to what sensei reported.
Machined a plug out of blue Styrofoam, then surfaced it with glass cloth. Not finished machined, just filled and sanded. The moulds...
