RE: durplane help and questions

Well here's the deal Charlie...I can fly wood, arfs, and anything else(rc planes) I can get my hands on when the need strikes me. If I had a big budget and plenty of time I would try all rc hobbies...

RE: durplane help and questions

You seem to be a craftsmen, everyone else in the world isn't. So you judge them based on your own standards? I am a craftsman myself but in my own way. I highly doubt I could build my own 'arrows'...

RE: Nexstar with flaperons

I have mine set up for flaperons. I have used them several times and my experience with them on all occasions have been other than good. It seems to throw the balance of the plane off somehow in my...

RE: What do you think of the Nexstar?

Hey dude, check your fuel lines on your nexstar. Mine was doing the same thing. I think that someone on the production line may have gotten the fuel line color coding wrong. Anyway, some nexstars...

RE: What do you think of the Nexstar?

There are some good points against this plane in some of the above posts. I own one myself so I can agree with them without conjecture. I bought the arf version so I can say I really only wasted...

RE: Can you cook your batteries?

I cooked some shark 1500 batteries with a tower hobbies fast charger just the other night. Only had them on charge for about 15 minutes when they went into thermal runaway...thats what I call it...

RE: Please Read

Give him a few swigs of some Canadian Mist. It will knock the edge off of the shakes. It works for me when I shoot my rifles in competition. Steady as a rock. Just don't get carried away as your...

RE: wow how was this possible!?!!?

Well, I hope it all goes well for him. I will try not to be negative about it as I am glad for the guy. Sims are great. But they are not truly 3D expressions of the real world. They cannot...

RE: YOU AINT GONNA BELIEVE WHAT I HEARD

I just gotta laugh at that. But I will say this for sure: If her husband was a good man she would not have had to put washer fluid in her car; he would keep it taken care of for her. I try to keep...

RE: Change Hobbies or not?

Yup, I agree with all of these guys. You are already ahead of the game in many aspects. Keep both your hobbies if you can though:D

RE: So... What did Santa leave under your tree?

Hmmm. This is a good thread. I wish I had a dad as good as you guys had. I know that I don't. I am 34 years old now and I am a vet as well. Hopefully my son will remember me as many of you have...

RE: Nexstar Rudder throws

Yup, I agree with jaka. Trim the corner off of the horn and you'll be ok. Remember this if you start adding 'shims' then you may run into a problem with your horn retaining screws not being long...

RE: durplane help and questions

I own a duraplane trainer 40. I think it is a decent airplane. I wouldn't think it to be a good first airplane though. It seems to be mediocre in flight and ground handling is twitchy at best. ...

RE: OK so it's more involved than I thought

Hi there. The trainer I learned to fly on was called a Goldberg freedom 20. I think it was a great little plane but looking back I think it was a bad choice for a first airplane. It took many...

RE: Nexstar Help

I have replaced the wing mount assembly myself. It is pretty easy for the most part. There are 2 wood screws and one machine screw into a blind nut. I would suggest replacing it with a new one as...

RE: GMS engines......Good? Bad?

I don't know crap about a GMS engine so I won't say anything about it one way or another. I have known some folks with them and those airplanes were always problematic. Mostly smaller ones if I...

RE: a few Nexstar questions to help my repairs

Cool, thanks. I have been running a MAS 11x7 on mine and it seems too much for good handling at idle. Seems to pull a little much, especially as it will virtually taxi away at even the lowest idle....

RE: a few Nexstar questions to help my repairs

Britbrat, my smaller airplane is a sonic 500 quickee plane. Yes I know that it will rev higher than an 11x6. I run the thing so rich it actually sputters as I transition through throttle settings...

RE: Mechanical Retract Dilemma

Well then!!! Seems to me they should get up off their wallets and buy some of your retracts. What have they to lose?
