RE: Anyone own a Warhead

I'm torn between praising the good service everybody is getting..... or is Duratrax just been using us all as guinea pigs to all test their rushed-to-market-even -though-it's release-was-delayed...

RE: Anyone own a Warhead

You would think my friend wrote this as I cruised my Revo no problem as he was fussing with the WH..... Though one of the 2 WH's run OK..... but the LHS put in a crappy humppack...only peaks at 6.5...

RE: Anyone own a Warhead

Ash, hell yeah call me crazy but I love Traxxas now. I feel guilty running my Revo while the rest are fussing with the Warheads. I just hate pull starts and all the components you otherwise have...

RE: Anyone own a Warhead

Breaking in 2 WH's at the same time, they both tended to flood easy when new and made the pull start hell....had to pull the glow 3 times and pull-start the fuel out until it got started....then once...

RE: Anyone own a Warhead

I got the old 2.5 Revo...right before the 3.3 came out...it sat for over a month as I gave the WH a fair try until frustration raised my blood pressure too much.....Then I busted the Revo out hoping...

RE: Duratrax Warhead vs. Traxxas Revo

I bought a WH and a Revo...broke in the WH first..it did all the horrible stuff they warned about in the threads....so I broke in my Revo and I am more than impressed by Traxxas, the EZ start system...

RE: Anyone own a Warhead

I HAVE OFFICIALLY DIS-OWNED MY WARHEAD.

After a day of frustration, with eating glow plugs and dealing with starter boxes, and stalled engines, and no good stable idle and WOT stuck and radio...

RE: Anyone own a Warhead

Radio glitches: I've seen some say radio marked as defective by Duratrax...but if your antenna is up and you're close to your truck, you are "swamping" the truck with the signal. servos going nuts...

RE: Anyone own a Warhead

I have a theory...even if you have fresh AA betteries, 6 volts isn't enough to run the servos...I couldn't get my Wh to do anything until I ran a hot charge into my humppack...putting it over 7...

RE: Anyone own a Warhead

My experience with breaking in two Warheads simultaneaously:

The piston tolerance is TIGHT when new!!!! that's why we break the motors in. I took the tip where you put after-run oil in before...

RE: Anyone own a Warhead

I heard that! I just ordered the 1/8 OFNA starter box with twin 550 motors. Not bad...under 60 bucks and runs off my 12 volt!

My friend's Warhead will be back in business, and my shoulder will...

RE: Anyone own a Warhead

RE: Anyone own a Warhead

I'm still reserving judgement until I actually start mine and break it in. I think I want it to be at least 60 degrees out before breaking in to minimize brittleness related problems. This thread...

RE: Anyone own a Warhead

1) MY LHS sold me Trinity 20% fuel..will that be OK for the WH?

2) How important is it to run Traxxas fuel only in a Revo?

3) Would a fail-safe prevent WOT runaways?

Thanks!
a noob.
