Happened to me once then I boiled the new spur and adjusted the mesh, and haven't had any problems since.

Take off the springs carefully and check the seal between the header and the pipe, it may not be sitting properly.

Just sharing my experience.
I found that the low speed needle is quite sensitive, if set too rich the engine would be difficult to start, my LSN is set about 2 turns out. once broken-in...

LSN 1 3/4 turns out from closed, HSN 2 turns out from closed. I found that the LSN is very sensitive and anything more than 2 1/2 turns and she'd have a hard time starting up. Cheers.
