The stock pack is a 650mah NiMH, which should be charged at no more than 1C or .65amps

You have probably damaged the cells, and it needs to be replaced.

I had to file my blade grips down some to make them fit properly. Just file them down on the tops to keep them both the same.

I don't think that's a resistor soldered across the motors on theses helis. I believe it's a capacitor to reduce electronic interference.
