I'd say that it had one of its motors/props hit or something to only have a few hundred damage an a soft landing. They probably was using birdshot an didn't get a good hit on it.

That looks like a hex-a-copter to me, an they are a few thousand bux with all of the bells an whistles. I believe they are from a German Co. There was a u-tube vid on them at one time.

One of my neighbors down here has about 100 acres of flat treeless land. the only thing on it is what looks to me like 2 ft tall prarie grass. Every summer he mows a big message to the govt in it....

They (U.S. Army) are now carrying explosives on small back pack planes. To small for radar to pickup, hard to tell from a big bird if it does happen catch it.
