RE: Northstar mods - Tell me what you think

Yes.
I have completed the covering. I just ordered the decal.
The model is about 7 1/4 lbs and is ready to fly. Going to use a Thunder Tigre GP42
for power.

RE: GP Profile 38, first flight.. Pleasantly surprised

Yo Greg,
If this is any help, I added one once of lead weight
to the tail to obtain the correct CG. I also fabricated the horizontal stabilizer using ΒΌ inch solid balsa to strengthen the tail...

RE: Maiden on the GP P-38 Yesterday.

Hi Bernd,
I'm not sure about the engines you are using. I used two O.S. 25LA's but had to add about 1 ounce of tail weight to obtain the correct CG.
Have you balanced your P38 yet?

Your...

RE: CMP Quest 50 ARF----????

I think your CG set at 130mm will be OK, however I belive that the CG adjusted to 135mm will be best.
Let me know how you do,
Ken

RE: CMP Quest 50 ARF----????

HI All,
I completed my maiden flight on my new Quest 50 and found the CG incorrect. At least the way I measured it. The 95mm to 105mm might be correct but not if you measure the distance at the...

RE: Maiden on the GP P-38 Yesterday.

Hi All,
Sunday Oct 8th was the maiden flight of my P38.
The weather was perfect, blue skies, temperature about 68 degrees, wind from one to five miles per hr. right down the runway and the trees...

RE: CMP Quest 50 ARF----????

Hi to all,
I just found and purchased a Quest 50 from Nitroplanes.
This will be my first pattern plane.
We have one club member with a Quest 90 at our field and it is impressive.

RE: Maiden on the GP P-38 Yesterday.

Yo RedRaiderFlyer,
Just fired up my GP P38 for the first time using OS 25LA's and found excessive vibration caused by the plastic spinners. I decided to remove them and was able to reduce all of...

RE: Maiden on the GP P-38 Yesterday.

Check out my gallery photos. There is one pix. indicating the method I used to operate the split flaps I installed using one HS55 servo. I think that the 27 deg of flaps that I was going to use is...

RE: GP Profile 38, first flight.. Pleasantly surprised

Hi Greg,
I have a Futaba 6EXA transmitter and the 127D 6 channel receiver.
To operate the flaps, I am using the switch that is normally used to operate the retracs.
I plan to start with about...

RE: GP Profile 38, first flight.. Pleasantly surprised

Hi Greg,
I don't think rotating the engines will change the CG, however if it does I would think you could correct any slight change in balance when you do a final balance of the model.

I have...

RE: GP Profile 38, first flight.. Pleasantly surprised

Hi Henry,

The P38 and booms are working out great!

First I built up all of the assemblies as the instruction and planes indicated. I then decided to sketch out the conversion of the booms...

RE: GP Profile 38, first flight.. Pleasantly surprised

Just starting my first twin project using the P38 profile. Has any one made the revision to the stabilizer and rudders by going solid rather than building them up as per the planes?
