3D Hawk Foamy

Just bought the 3D Hawk foamy... great value btw... but LOUSY instructions. Anyone build one and have any tips? Like the right CG and throws and what not? I've got quite a few bigger planes but...

Graupner Cam prop 6x3 works really well. If you're using a stock 400 motor.. use the 2mm style.
I also tried it w/0 the spinner... but i was airborne. It will definitely not unfold and shake...

Soopr...
The reason your bird "landed" was because the prop wasn't really spinning. That's why you didn't have any thrust. Yes, they break there quite often and yes, the carbon ones don't break...

Yes, they will slope... but not very efficiently. My slope zagi weighs around 13oz. Have no idea with my big batteries what the brushless weighs, quite abit i'm sure as it's highly reinforced. ...

Sargent... cobalts are awesome compared to a speed 400. But... (always a but! lol) they're kinda heavy ... wear out even tho you can replace the brushes...the wattage cobalts used to have problems...

So many variables... type of battery, how hard you discharge it, charge it etc.

Two extremes: (nicad) Charging with lower rates, regular cycling, good throttle...

No way... they're dinosaurs at this point. They're heavy... and don't put out that much more power especially compared to a brushless.

Yep ... you have the 400. Like Van said... keep everything the way it is for now until you destroy the canopy (which you will!, lol) you can fly the bigger battery... just don't put the canopy...

For the money the Himax 2015 w/ 8 cell 2/3A (kans are great). You'd want to go to really high gearbox 6:1 and swing a big prop.
