RE: horizon hobby

Man, I read through this thread twice trying to find that remark about staying on top of them. Thanks, taildragger.

Mr. McConville, I'll ask again; just what do you mean by "stay on top of...

RE: User ID switch???

Tried that; no joy. The other user name appears in the password box and cannot be deleted.

This isn't a big deal, just annoying. I got an e-mail from you guys on the work computer, saying you...

User ID switch???

I used to have two accounts; one at work (Steve Campbell2) and one here at home (Steve Campbell). These date back to the old RCU.

Not long after the changeover, they were combined so that I was...

Question Regarding H9 T-34 Retracts

Okay, I must have missed something. In another thread where this topic was being discussed, somebody, who it seemed to me was representing themselves as a Horizon employee, made a post about these...

Sig Kougar Questions...

I have always wanted to build one of these, but for various reasons have never gotten around to it.

I find myself with an old, but good-running OS 40 SF lying idle, and the desire to finally do...

RE: KADET ARF Building time?

Well, we all have different "speeds" at which we do things. I took over two weeks to assemble mine. It was for my grandson; I had other things to fly, so I was in no hurry.

But I submit that, if...

RE: Hawk Sport or Raven?

Azziza,

Unless you are looking for a "beater", or something to throw around that isn't expensive or difficult to repair, don't get the Hawk Sport. It is a very basic helicopter. Mine arrived...

RE: KALT 30 BARON

For reasons known only over there, the Enforcer was/is called the Space Baron in the UK...;)

I'm guessing you have the plastic-framed Baron 30, which was the last of the line. I have seen...

RE: Sig wonder engine choice

If you want a rocket ship, then by all means put the larger engine on it. But be aware that the model is designed to fly at a weight of two pounds. Get it heavier, and it doesn't fly as well with the...

RE: TT Pro36 for Heli

Listen to Boomstriker.

The TT engines do wonderfully in airplanes. Their record in helicopters is, shall we say, less than sterling. As Boomstriker said, its all in the carburetor.

The OS...

Noted, Ron.

Thanks for the heads-up.

RE: KALT 30 BARON

Be sure of WHICH Baron 30 you're dealing with; there were two.

First was the Baron Alpha 30, then the Baron 30, which was an updated Enforcer.

It was a shame that Kalt went away; the later...

RE: Airplane 10x for Heli ?

Several thoughts...

There are very few 60 size scale bodies out there that will fit the Concept 60 frame with out major surgery.

The rear cone starting arrangement on this machine will...

RE: You prefer 9252 Digital, or 9402 Analog Coreless b.b. ??

One area where Futaba is lacking is a big-nut general purpose servo, like the JR 4721/2721. This puppy has good speed and 120oz./in. of grunt. The only difference is that the 2721 has metal gears,...

RE: GOOD DEALS in Classifieds GONE!

Okay; I DID miss something...:)

Anyway, I did poke around the other places like Marc suggested. I found them to be no better, or no worse. The old RCU and RunRyder...

RE: Airplane 10x for Heli ?

Because he already has a 10X plank version, and he's an old fixed wing guy who obviously has developed an interest in The Dark Side. Good for ya, Paul; these things are a hoot.

What ship are you...

RE: Just recieved my CG Ultimate

Just spent the last hour re-locating the tank. Using the supplied mounting arrangement, it would sit too low for that high-mounted carburetor.

I had to whack the main former, then fit a splice...

RE: Kit for OS15, but not a trainer or combat model?

<<...Wonder built with landing gear...>>

It can be easily done, but it kind of ruins the lines of the model. Plus, you want to keep it as close to two pounds as you can get it. No such mod is...

RE: Just recieved my CG Ultimate

Engineman,

I side-mounted mine for precisely the reasons you stated. This means that, due to the geometry of the Ultimate cowl, the carb will be exposed (see below).

I'm of two minds about...

RE: Kit for OS15, but not a trainer or combat model?

Not sure what your definition of "combat model" is, Dzl, but I'll second the motion on a Sig Wonder. This is a traditional kit that builds into a really neat little model, and is a hoot to fly.

Ah, so.

I remember seeing this on the old RCU, but didn't use it because it has some limitations, as I recall. No posting of pix, for example.

I just never noticed it down here after the...

RE: New reply box!

I'm either confused, or am not getting a "quick reply" box.

What I DO see is a "reply box" superimposed over the screen post. I kind of liked the old full-page reply screen better, but I can...
