Why is the Futaba 148 servo so popular for throttle?

Its a perfectly servicable run of the mill servo. Not specialized or escpecially expensive. If you had more powerful (BB perhaps) servos you'd use them on a tail surface maybe. If you had slim servos...

I'm going to jump in late on this thread and agree Strongly with "goingstraightup". I had two trainers(don't ask)- a PT40 with the low dihedral wing, and the Aerostar. The PT40 was a great first kit...

Control Surfaces where to measure?

small point in so far as recommended throws; they are to be measured at the surfaces widest point as I understand it. (irregular shape rudder or elevator) hopes this helps

not to oversimplify, but is the stopper tight? The "halfway" down when the problem shows has me thinking maybe all you need is a good turn or two of the screwdriver on the stopper screw.
