RE: Gas profile

JP1961, foam core fuselages sheeted with balsa is nothing new to profiles. Been done many times and it works well, to address ahicks concern of the fuse breaking behind the wing, well you can install...

RE: Profile Plans

mmiller1, the people who have done designs generally do not release scratch build plans. You would need to find plans and then somehow get the rib patterns.

RE: good service from airtronics

I sent my SD10G in for the update and had it back so quick I was shocked. I think from the time I sent it in to its' return was like 10 days total and I live in Indiana.

RE: Metal Arms for Airtronics Servos

I use SWB on the rudder only because they offer the 4.5" JR arm and it bolts down on the spline. So far so good, but like Mike said the MPI stuff is very good.

RE: What would you want from a profile desing?

My advice is for you to design whatever you want.

RE: Carbon gear for profile

I used to sell them in an effort with Graphtech. Salmon is pretty dead on target, they just were not up to the abuse. Now, I understand Graphtech has changed their manufacturing process and they may...

RE: Giant scale setup w/SD10G and 10CH RX

Next on the FMode menu is AI Differential, frankly most every airplane needs a little for cleaner rolls while being judged. This is a menu item you will have to fly your airplane and then go into the...

RE: Giant scale setup w/SD10G and 10CH RX

The next feature I use on this sort of airplane is "Idle Down". This is useful when you want to run a higher or lower idle in flight then on landing. I like to run a slightly higher idle when flying...

RE: Giant scale setup w/SD10G and 10CH RX

Next step is throttle curve, the SD10 has a 9 point throttle curve. Fortunately my DA is very linear on ES Composite pipes so I do not need a curve. However, if you do bring the cursor to "point X"...

RE: Giant scale setup w/SD10G and 10CH RX

Next thing I program is my exponential. It is right after the D/R so it is a nice logical step in the flow of the SD10 menu. You will notice as you cycle the 10/11/12 (I will now call it the rate...

RE: Giant scale setup w/SD10G and 10CH RX

OK, sorry it has taken so long to get back to this, but like I said in an above post the weather this fall here in Southern Indiana has been Southern California like. Well, it is now gone and we are...

RE: Extreme Flight 87

I agree Charles, a friend of mine still has one around here and flies the 3D snot out of it. I would say they are so close in 3D performance the choice lies in the beholder.

RE: Extreme Flight 87

I have had both. Never ever experienced it snapping with full elevator??? Cannot say which is better, both are 3D monsters but the 87" no longer being in production parts will be an issue.

RE: Giant scale setup w/SD10G and 10CH RX

Mike R., not sure what you mean by a setup sheet. Elaborate because where I am at right now would be a good time to develop such an item. In my above post I wrote pretty much what I did and Mike G....

RE: Giant scale setup w/SD10G and 10CH RX

Sorry for not getting back to this guys. Right now in the midwest we are experiencing California type weather and I am getting some outdoor projects done before old man winter gets going. Be posting...

RE: Extreme Flight 88

As a full scale pilot for a major airline I can attest to what Chris is saying. The same is true for full scale planes, inspections must be done even if nothing is wrong or suspected wrong. It is...

RE: Giant scale setup w/SD10G and 10CH RX

Cap10B, glad you could join our conversation. Jack Albrecht, now there is a name I have not heard in some time, I talked with him many times when I flew Stylus, now I am SD10 and trying to figure it...

RE: Giant scale setup w/SD10G and 10CH RX

OK, got a little time to start this whole thing. It is tough to cover some things, for instance, mounting your EQ6. Each model will be different so I will just say, get the thing mounted on something...

RE: How do you install/mount your RX

I used velcro one wrap. Epoxy a small section to the wing sheeting then 1/4" foam and wrap it with the velcro. Mount so that the antennas can end up 90 degrees from each other.

RE: Giant scale setup w/SD10G and 10CH RX

Yes, it does not matter really what type of plane, pretty much the same stuff. I thought I was going to get back to working on it yesterday after my initial post, butttttttttttttt you know how that...

Giant scale setup w/SD10G and 10CH RX

Hope this is the right place to do this, but it seems with the release of the SD10G and 10CH RX (92104) there may be some of you needing to see how others setup a giant scale aerobatic plane. In no...

RE: SD-10G, 10-Channel Rx and Giant Scale

Plasticman, I know you are looking for a setup w/o a third party power board, but there may be some on here that might be interested in how to do this with a power board. Therefore, I have begun...

RE: SD-10G, 10-Channel Rx and Giant Scale

Mike, what is the thought to running 2 of the 10ch RX's? I did this when I was on 72mhz on my 40% plane as did many guys. This will help divide the load and certainly be cheaper than buying a smart...
