Also, the 1#B shows a metal head but I think that costs extra. I think it comes with a plastic head. Anyone know?

Align Speed Controls are great(IMHO). I would try another battery and/or do as George1234 says and reduce the cutoff voltage.

I have the DX6, GY401, S9650. Here is what I've got for settings (maybe this will help)

GY401 switch is set to reverse (I have it hanging upside down on a gyro mount in the rear)

DX6...
