2003 Taper T.E. Dust

My latest Dust.
Swept more, clipped to 32"
and a 1" sweep in the tailing edge.
Just for looks. This is the 4th one
built like this but my fav.
It's a design form '95 as well

Delta weights

For the Dust,Outlaws and Wiz that I've flow anything over #3
has been sluggish on take off/landing and really jerking it around.
Most have been in the 2.25-2.7# range and let you do anything.

what to buy

The MA and Rippy are Comp Unlimited planes while the Menus and
Minus are Fun Fly planes. For just play I'd go with the latter.
2 wheels and a rudder make them more of a sport type Comp
plane and...

Slow progress but

Just started building the plug for a vac bagged composite version
of this plane. Just a pet project but the Vess airfoil is so,so good
on this Delta I think its worth the effort. Might even finish...

The problem your going to have is the DF motors have a high timing and don't really like much below 19-20K.
No a big deal with multi bladed fan at say 6" dia.

We have tried the .21 car motors. Did ok but would not get to the

Set the engine mount and center T.E. level on a table with half
the wing hanging over the table. Get back and sight the tip. It
should be dead even with the center, use the table edge as
a sight...

Gear reduction

I've thought of using the head and gear form a LMH
on the nose of a plane. As long as the all up wt isn't
more than the LMH it should hover. The TGs should
be great too.
