Sounds to me like you've melted the middle out of the plastic pinion that is on the clutch bell. quite common, and normally the first item to be upgraded to steel.

With a half decent round file and a hacksaw it literally takes 5 minutes. Just don't file too much otherwise you'll break into the crank case chamber

i got it from B&Q like you suggested, was about £5 for a metre length and the bender was £18. Still cheaper than buying new from MCD and i've got loads of other stuff i can use the bender for.

Cheers Clive, i actually bought some alu pipe and a bender and made my own. I cut the unused roll bar mounts from the front of my car and used these to mount the new one. It fits a treat.

I might give this a try. I'm not sure how the roll bar mounts on the evo though. I can see it is screwed through the bottom of the chassis but don't know if it is screwed straight into the roll bar...

I found out what damaged my engine. It was a peice from the little end bearing.

Will a CY 29cc 36mm piston and cylinder bolt straight onto a CY 26cc 34mm crankcase. I thought they were all the same? I'm about to order one but noticed that they also list 29cc...

If it came from my carb, then i'm glad it destroyed this motor and not my zenoah in my Marder where i borrowed it from.

@46u, i think it's the same piece that has done the damage, just gone up and down the bore in a few different places.

It's an old motor i got with my MCD Baja. It has casting marks dating it about 4 years old but don't know how much use it as had. Will post some more pics later once i've got the kids to bed. :)

It's probably about 1mm deep, 0.5 on the piston and 0.5 in the cylinder. If it were just the piston then i think it would just clean up and a new ring would sort it, but with the cylinder being...

Hi All,
Does anybody have an exploded view with part numbers for a CY 260 engine? I'm after a piston and cylinder and the shop I'm using only lists part numbers.
