I am using Hitecs best non digital servo with Double ball bearing Metal gears.
You have the answer, its the reverse direction of the Hitec. They are not compatible with the Futaba...

Thanks for the replys. The servo reverser Y-harness is Futaba and the servos are HItec. If I replace the Hitec with Futaba sevos the reverser works. I was hoping that the Hitec was not a bad one...

Why put a VW engine in a sports car?? A plane this size and weight needs a 4.2 or larger. Also all gas motor are not the same, some have a lot of extra weight that cost power output. Your choice...

Cowl cracking

You may try using servo mounting rubbers and the brass sleeves.
This will act as soft mounts on engines. Adds strength and a cushion effect to the cowl. You can buy these if you do not have extras....

Mounting engine

I followed the plans with a Webra 120 and the planes flyes great. You may have problems with no down thrust with the plane wanting to climb. Takes offs may be more difficult with no right thrust....

power for Byron P-51 kit

I want to power my Byron P-51 with a gas motor. I want very little hanging outof the cowl. I was thinking about a 3.2 size motor.

I heard Iron Bay is not producing mufflers and purpower systems....
