RE: RC model mars rover?

A friend of mine is working on a project (though its on the backburner at the moment) to build a large scale computer controlled battleship using a bunch of microcomputers - gumstix, if I recall...

RC model mars rover?

For a while I've thought that it would be nifty to build an R/C mars rover - either a scale of Spirit/Opportunity or something similar, or a scratchbuilt - and set it loose in the bush somewhere.

RE: want to build a rc lawn mower

I was just going to make a post about this!

I've been thinking about r/c lawnmowers for a while, since my house is being built and I'm going to have to actually mow the lawn soon. My wife thinks...

RE: "air-buggy" - stage one

You could put a camera on the front, with VR goggles or a display in front of you. From that perspective it should be easier to guide the car.

Also: as far as steering goes, you could possibly...

RE: A cool British RC UFO video technology adopted by US military.

That's flying with the coanda principle, isn't it? I always wondered if that was worth it, or if you'd be better off having the fan blow straight through the centre and have the cargo around the rim...

RE: RC Lawnmower

This is great! My own (slowly progressing, ok so it's pretty much stalled) project is similar, only it will be steam-powered. Probably using electric motors for whippersnipper things, with power...

RE: 2/5 scale sherman

The Gizmologist built one for his kid! (http://www.gizmology.net/tanks.htm) :D

I am totally doing that when I have kids. :P

RE: Anyone ever build a lifting body?

I've never heard of it myself, but it would be really awsome. :D

Didn't those lifting bodies have stability problems, though? I seem to recall something about oscilating roll on approach to...

RE: Tank

I've seen video of some r/c tank combat clubs. On board cameras and such. It's pretty awesome. This particular group used modified paintball markers as "artillery", as well as markers mounted on...

RE: My projects site with pictures so far

I'm think I'm in love with that hovercraft. I take it that it's a transport of some kind? delivering your tank(s) to the foe? :P

Awesome.

Steam tanks?

Hey folks, I'm kindof new hear. I've been lurking for a while, but as you can see - very few posts.

Anyway, I've always had a bit of a thing for steampunk, but I've noticed here that people...

RE: Project: VTOL

This is great!

(I always thought that the Mil Mi-12 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mil_Mi-12) would have made an awesome tiltrotor aircraft.)

RE: what do these things fire?

A friend and I are thinking of building a large scale warship using paintball sized wax shells as ammo. That way our pride and joy(s) won't sink! It would be 1/50th (or aroundabouts) scale, which is...

RE: Australian warship combat "what a joke!"

That is a great idea! If you don't like what you find out there, start your own club your own way! hehe.

It's a pity this happened. A friend of mine has been designing an R/C ship from...
