RE: SoCal Revvers...

I hope this little storm over the weekend clears the way for a nice desert trip. [:o] I went to Apple Valley Saturday and it was windy, cold, and the Cajon pass was dumping massive rain.

RE: SoCal Revvers...

Hey Dan, that is much appreciated! So, is just the lake bed off limits to vehicles? For instance, can you go riding bikes up towards the hills and up the canyons? I've done some trails up here...

RE: Finding C/G of Delta

I use geeky spreadsheets if I'm at home.

Actually, I was amazed out at the field the other day quite a few guys didn't know how to calculate cg on basic wing shapes. These threads are good when...

RE: Finding C/G of Delta

You guys are all correct but I do it a quicker and easier way if I'm out at the field. Take the center chord + tip Chord then divide by 2= MAC (or average chord). Multiply the MAC by 15-17%. Slide...

RE: Glow plugs... need some suggestions

That was the 2nd flight video and yep the motor was not running well. Low end mixture was rich and high end was not set right. The pipe header was also not cut down much. I have had over a dozen...

RE: Glow plugs... need some suggestions

Yah, I need less pitch or shorten the pipe still. I had to do a giant dive and when pulling level the pipe kicked in and the plane accelerated level another 15-20 mph. Next time I fly I will get...

RE: Glow plugs... need some suggestions

I wanted to shout out to all those who helped me out on this (old) issue. I FINALLY got out and got some good flights in without burning up a plug per flight. I compiled all suggestions and hints...

RE: Fast electric guys, need some advice on props.

kmot, any of the small pylon props are good to high RPMs. APC rates theirs modestly and most are well over 30K. Same with the CAMs. Start with a smaller prop and measure the current. So many guys...

Mecoa sells shims for the 7.5cc ducted fans. .003 and .010 in a kit. They have the McCoy plugs too.

RE: Glow plugs... need some suggestions

I'll email Mecoa to see what they have. I have looked for more info on shims but didn't find much. My plan was to make some from shim stick caveman style but I have access to a lathe too.

Once...

RE: Glow plugs... need some suggestions

It's an APC 7.5X8 carbon Q40 prop. I have some other Q40 props to play with... 7.2X7.7 and 7.2X8 I also have a thinner blade 8X8 I can eventually trim down to 7.5 or something.

I will be...

RE: Glow plugs... need some suggestions

I wiped off the plugs pretty good to get a good photo shot. The last one I ran was pretty oily. Still, you guys are giving sound advice and I am taking notes. I am not running a bubble-less tank...

Glow plugs... need some suggestions

I'm burning up a plug per flight on my Tiger Demon and K&B 6.5. I am tuning so the motor is not lean and it lands with the head just barely warm. In fact, the motor is running super. Problem is I...

RE: Old School K&B 6.5 info needed

I did a little more tuning today at the field and made some nice improvements. I am now taching at 20,400RPM on 7.5X8 and the pipe sounds like it is kicking in. Haven't measured timing just yet...

RE: (Something Fast?) Delta Build Thread

Got a few more flights in this weekend and getting the motor dialed in more. I'm up to 20,400RPM on 7.5X8 Q40 prop on 15% still. Motor finally sounds like it's connecting on the pipe but may be...
