Hi gang, well I went to break my MGT in today, fueled it up, put in a new OS A3 glow plug, heated it up, primed the engine, pulled the trigger on the starter, nothing.

Played with the LSN...

RE: OFFICIAL MONSTER GT 8.0, MMGT FORUM

Is there a trick to getting the carb off this engine?

I've removed the pinch bolt and it's not moving, on the manual it looks like you're supposed to knock out the thing the screw goes into, but...

Thanks, I wanted to be extra sure so I didn't mess up a part of my new truck

Hi there, my MGT 8.0 just arrived, and I need to know how to remove the thorttle linkage, I can't see that cup coming off without bending the throttle rod in half.

I agree with ThermalRD, it's all about what you're using the truck for and how stiff you need the suspension, it's not compulsory regardless of the situation ;)

RE: OFFICIAL MONSTER GT 8.0, MMGT FORUM

They're contradicting themselves if they're saying use it if you're not going to run the engine for over 2 months.

It's either a big no no that causes problems and gunks up your engine and isn't...

RE: OFFICIAL MONSTER GT 8.0, MMGT FORUM

Some interesting points here:

I can't see why it would cause any adverse effects either though, apart from foreign material entering the engine when you're putting ARO in, there doesn't...

RE: OFFICIAL MONSTER GT 8.0, MMGT FORUM

Do they have anything to back that up with?

I'd be reluctant to never use after run oil just because they say so, sounds like customers using too much of it and AE just telling them never to use...

RE: OFFICIAL MONSTER GT 8.0, MMGT FORUM

What would you guys go for.

5.54 litres of 12% synth/castor mix with 25% nitro or the lowest I can get is 16% nitro

Or 3.78 litres of 18% synth/castor mix, but 30% nitro.

Both the same...

I would like to know this as well, I'm about to purchase an MGT 8.0 with a shed load of other things, and I've got 25% Race Formula in the list, it's only going to be used for bashing in my field, so...

RE: metal vs plastic parts

My opinion:

Metal: It looks nice, but it's too strong that if you do have a nasty crash, you're either going to bend them into disrepair, or they're going to transfer the energy to the next...

RE: Engine silicone advice - UK

I can get pro seal RTV for £5, I think that's my best bet.

Permatex is going to cost me £13 with postage.

It looks like the red hi-temp RTV is the best to go for, it withstands 370c...

What fuel were you using before?

I've ditched the savage idea and I'm getting a MGT in March, I was planning on running O Donnel's 25% race formula, has anyone compared it to Byrons?
