RE: Sharp looking AT-6

I always enjoyed the aeroshell team too. I don't know if ya'll have heard, but a week or so ago one of the pilots that live here in Alabama got injured at home and is now paralyzed from the chest...

RE: Carden 35% Cap 232 Cowl

krayzc,
That is exactly what I needed. My fuselage is only 9" wide, but since I am stripping and recovering it anyway I am sure I can make it work. That saves me $40. The H9 canopy is...

Carden 35% Cap 232 Cowl

Hey guys,

I need a cowl for a Carden 35% Cap that I just got. From Carden they are $80. I can get one from the Hangar 9 33% for $40 from the LHS. Does anyone have the measurements of the...

RE: Prop to cowl spacing

When I have a spinner that matches up to the cowl like an Edge does, I try to keep it as close as I can. I wouldn't go any more than 1/8", I sometimes even try to get it closer than that. On...

RE: H9 Warbirds and gasoline engines

I think I put about a 5/8" spacer behind the engine to get it out far enough and just bolted it through the spacer to the firewall. I also went down to an 8 oz. fuel tank. That tank is plenty for a...

RE: G20 prop size

I run a 15x8 on mine and it really hauls. Mine is on a H9 P-47.

RE: H9 Warbirds and gasoline engines

Warbird Man is right, the G-20 fits great in the Hellcat. It also fits great in the P-47 and Corsair.

RE: G20ei @ hangar9 hellcat?

Hey,
I haven't had any problems with the retracts. The only thing is that with the doors on them you have to slow the plane down pretty slow to get them to come down. With those big doors flat...

RE: G20ei @ hangar9 hellcat?

Yes, the stock muffler is what I used. I did have a little flutter one time. I was making a descending turn at full throttle for a low pass and got a little flutter. I chopped the throttle and...

RE: G20ei @ hangar9 hellcat?

I put one in mine. It fit great. All I had to cut was an opening for the velocity stack and muffler pipe. I had to make an extension for the exhaust to reach outside the cowling. Put a 15x8 prop...

RE: Mr. Mulligan,

Wow, that's $100 cheaper than a new one from Horizon with a magneto. Maybe I should look around a little. It sounds like I will lose a lot of money if I sell my new G-45 though. Oh well....I guess...

RE: Mr. Mulligan,

I guess I am going to use a G-45 since I have a practically new one sitting around. I would rather have a G-62 myself, I may try to trade or something.

I'll check with Fiberglass Specialties...

RE: Mr. Mulligan,

Hey Ralph,
Is that a fiberglass cowl you have there? If so, where did you get it? I have acquired a nosen Mulligan that is mostly built and I don't like the looks of the plastic one.
Thanks,

RE: New 81" P-47 ARF coming from Hangar 9

Ok, that sounds a lot better. I had not heard of any 821 failures and I try to keep up with this kind of stuff. Thanks for the info RFan. I have never found threadlock to be of much use other than...

RE: New 81" P-47 ARF coming from Hangar 9

Chad,
Thanks for the heads-up. I had not heard about that. I'll do a little checking around before I put them in anything big.
Thanks,

RE: New 81" P-47 ARF coming from Hangar 9

They have been replaced with the JR 821. The 821 has more torque.

I don't believe you really did that. Do another one and send it to me and I might believe you.:D

RE: Zenoah G20EI

There must be a problem with it somewhere. I usually fly my Hellcat 3 times each day that I take it out and never have to field charge it. Other members in my club get similar times with similar...

RE: Zenoah G20EI

I don't think I would use a 6 Volt battery. 4.8 volt only. 1500mah battery gives plenty of flight time for me, usually 3-4 10 min flights. Mine is in a H9 Hellcat.

RE: B-25 101" WHICH 3 BLADE PROP FOR G-38

I have a few buddies that run Graupner 16x8's on their G-38's. Seems to be just right.

RE: What airplane to buy?

Ryan,
The only way I could do it is a co-ownership. There are two of us and looking for our third now. That makes it a lot more affordable. I couldn't afford it on my own, it will actually be a...
