when i put my finger in the carb air inlet and blow into pressure line, air is comming out off the hole in the carb rubber. this should not be happening right? or is the carb slide boot worn...

I can't remember if it smells like hot brakes, but what do you mean by "smoke from the engine is normal" (ofcourse not the exhaust) but if smoke came of the engine it sounds to me like overheating...
