I have seen that happen probally 50 times , mostly warbirds at our field. Very common mistakes on takeoff.

My boo boo 's usually occur at landing ...LoL:)

I cut into the spar and reframed and restructured around the wheel opening. It looked pretty cool. but the cheap POS firewall pulled out / cracked and locked the spinner up in flight , and took her...

jd ............. the LADO elecrtic retract conversion kit is available only at MAGNUMRC.com......... far as I know at this time. I think they can be applied to other late issue KMP planes too. ...
