RE: How to tune this engine

RE: GMS 120

Try here: http://www.toprc.co.nz/webshop/index.php?cPath=105_107 It looks like the store is in New Zealand so I have no idea what the postage might cost. Also, I didn't see the piston ring but the...

RE: Any experience with Hitec's Supreme IIS 8 Channel FM Receiver?

Ok Mody. I didn't know if you were aware that Great Planes had at least one production run of their Escapades that the elevator hinges weren't CA'ed in enough to keep them from fluttering at higher...

RE: Any experience with Hitec's Supreme IIS 8 Channel FM Receiver?

After reading through this thread I noticed the one thing that really stood out to me was the flutter problem is coming from a plane that you are currently flying that has been known to have...

RE: Magnum .61 help

I just ran into the same problem but my engine is a Magnum .91XLS 2-stroke. I was running an OS #8 plug and using 15% nitro. After a short run, it would lose power and burn out a plug about every...

RE: Take off w/ trike gear

Some really great suggestions!  But after re-reading your original post I couldn't help but think to ask....have you laterally balanced your plane?   You stated that once the plane leaves the...

RE: Magnum 91 XLS idle problems - help please

RV....Just by luck the same thing happened to me last week.  I started breaking the engine in on my test stand and around halfway through the second tank it started running very erratically on both...

RE: Magnum .61 flooding

I agree with W8ye. If your tank isn't the problem then it could be the "O" ring on your main needle valve. I know you said you disassembled the carb but did you take out the main needle valve and...

RE: Saito 72 lose of pressure

Dave,

Just by luck I just finished "chasing" this same problem on my 3 year old Saito .72 GK. It took me a couple of weeks but I finally got it figured out. You are on the right track and all...

RE: An MDS.61 that is impossible to tune

I have a MDS .40 engine that was just sitting in a box due to the same reasons you explained. It ran really erratic and I could never get it to run right. Then I read a thread here on RCU about MDS...

RE: os 61 fx problems and questions.

Just a hunch...check your muffler vent. The same thing happened to me before with fuel backing up in the vent tube. A check of the whole muffler revealed everything was fine until I stuck a T-pin...

RE: Need help with ID of plane

rduff55,
It has been my understanding that Great Planes bought the rights to the Bridi RCM trainer back in the early 80's and they in-turn "updated" the plans and produced kits under the Great...

RE: RC Prop Nuts Phillipines ?

Well Sparky, I wasn't a member of the Prop Nut's back in 1971-1974 but I flew out at the field from 1988-1990! When I arrived in October 1988 I asked around about the club and no one had any idea...

RE: correct prop?

William,
My suggestion thus far is not to recommend any propeller for that engine. Starting a P&W Twin Wasp engine has been known to cause numerous Japanese Zeros to appear from no where!!! ...

Jim,
OK...I just couldn't resist! First, you bought a new engine and didn't even open the instruction booklet. [>:]Next, you crank up the computer, find RC Universe and post on the engine forum...

RE: Saito Velocity Stack and O-Rings

William:
I knew that the stacks wouldn't increase engine performance but after reading that the stacks improved fuel economy I was just wondering why Saito stopped putting them on the 100's and...

RE: Saito Velocity Stack and O-Rings

After reading the thread on velocity stacks last week I decided to go and check my new Saito 100 GK (still in the box) to see if it came with one as did my .72 GK I bought a couple of years ago. To...

Anyone else flown on an AF base for air show?

I "just" retired from the Air Force in 1998 and the best advise I can give you as far as radio interference goes is to check with the base Communications (Comm) Squadron. They have a list of all...
