RE: GMS overheating engine

Take the cowl off and try it again. That will at least narrow it down to. If you got any 0% nitro fuel or 5% give that a try.

RE: hawk clutch question

I had the boom back out enough to separate the torque wire from the tail rotor. Scary. There is a hole where the boom slides into the frame on the left side of the frame. Perfect size to screw a jam...

RE: Kinetic 50 is Really Starting to Irritate Me

You sure you have to split the frame? I pull my Hawk down in 3-5 minutes. And a Kinetic is just a stretched hawk. Usually I have to remove fan shroud as well.

RE: Gyro location for a Hawk Sport

Correct me guys if I am in error, but when using the old motorize gyros it was almost necessary to put them right under the main shaft for them to perform best. With the new Piezo gyros, I thnk you...

RE: Hawk II main shaft

Upgrade cost more that a new heli. Many many parts to buy. Think I'll look for some 8mm drill rod and make a few of them I guess.

RE: .46 engine

I am not sure which plane you are refering to when you speak of cowling. I dont think there are many suitable trainers that have cowls. At least I wouldn't recommend one. Although looking nice, they...

RE: trouble startin .52

In my experience, starting backward is a sign of over-priming or too rich. Also I've found newer engines often start backwards much more than when they are broken in a bit.

If it comes with a remote valve, it cant be too old. Best engine I have ever had was an older OS 46 SF.

For the money and low nitro. Super Tigre is the way to go. There really isnt a bad .40 size out there. But since you are new and will be getting some help from other flyers, save the money for a hot...

Thanks for the info. I must be see the "crown" as it is about 1/16 of an inch from the top of the pistion and a very shiney chrome color different than the rest of the piston.

RE: Supertiger 51 - Surging problem

A few other things to try is to push down on the carb hard before tightening up the pinch bolt. My experience show more break in time on the 51s for some reason. Could be the ring end gap. After...

RE: OS engine cylinder lining peeling/flaking

Interesting problem. I've never seen a .25 FP peel a liner. But there is always a first. Now FX's were a different story. Wouldn't hurt to give OS a shot at giving you an estimate. Perhaps they too...
