RE: RC Expert and shiiping times to the UK

Hi Mike,

I bought an MX400 from them a month or two ago and found them fine. The kit was shipped quickly but a couple of items were out of stock at the time of shipping (metal tail housing and a...

RE: Wren with smoke system

Jai,
You could do away with the electric pump and batteries altogether by using case pressure from the engine. AMT use this method to great effect. Just take a pressure feed from the engine case...

RE: L39/Wren 44 Pics and video

David,
I believe this is not advisable as nicads and NiMh batteries have different peak voltages. NiMh have a lower peak if I remember right so you run the chance of overcharging them in the long...

RE: L39/Wren 44 Pics and video

Ian,
That's the answer. You must pull out the element in the plug, at least two coils and make sure it glows really bright. After that you should fing it ignites much easier. Both my 54 and 44...

RE: L39/Wren 44 Pics and video

Paul,
Looking at the way the engine mount is screwed to the wing seat, do the screws not mark or prevent the wing from seating correctly? Just that it looks like the screw heads stand proud of the...

RE: L39/Wren 44 Pics and video

Volkan,

Savex offer a number of options. To put it this way, mine with the carbon upgrade for turbine use, rudder, flaps, retract and fully painted was around £250. It depends on what options...

RE: L39/Wren 44 Pics and video

Budgy,

I don't think you've read that right. For Hysol 9461 it says 'Ideal for bonding dissimilar substrates like GRP, SMC and composites.'

So it may well be a good cheaper alternative....

RE: Balsa USA enforcer

If anyone in the UK is after one, I have a brand new kit which I doubt I'll get the time to build. Open to sensible offers if interested.

Tony

RE: Pulse Jets

Put it this way, it's not illegal but the BMFA insurance will not cover this type of powered model. At least it never used too when I got mine.
Your other problem is the noise. Not everyone likes...

Hi Paul,

Well it looks like that picture was both our planes! Received mine at the same time and yes the quality is outstanding. I very pleased with it.

Looking back through the pictures on...

RE: L39/Wren 44 Pics and video

Paul,
You've ordered the same colour scheme as mine. Bugger! ;-) Mine should be here very soon now.

Ran my MW44 up a number of times now, what a complete jewel of an engine. It still amazes me...

RE: L39/Wren 44 Pics and video

Well my MW44 turned up today. First time I've actually seen one in the flesh! Sure looks tiny even though I'm used to the MW54. No guesses what I'm doing this weekend ;).

My L39 should be here...

RE: Opnion about new 9 Channel Radio

Highflight's absolutely right. We all have our own ideas as to what we want and like.

Be sure to look at the Multiplex Evo9 in your evaluation too.

RE: Jet Train?

Woketman,

Wren provide a special FADEC ECU for the turboprop type engine. This is basically and additional ecu which monitors the power turbine statges and prevents overspeeding of the gearboxes...

RE: Royal evo 12 feedback, heli?

Hi Derrick,
I've had my Evo for 18 months or so and is complete with the synth module and scanner, both of which are excellent. In fact I'm just waiting to receive a new synth reciever too!

As...

RE: L39/Wren 44 Pics and video

Another thought.

Are the flaps retracting at the same speed or is one a bit slower/faster?

RE: World Model Speed record???

Hmm, 343 kmh = 212mph. Not bad for a piston engines plane back in the 70's. Most FAI or F1 pylon planes are easily capable of these speeds if not more in a straight line. As for turbines, I'd say...

RE: L39/Wren 44 Pics and video

Sounds like a job for an incidence guage. Something has to be out, either the wing or the stab.

Mine arrives in a couple of weeks so will check before the first flights. Have you checked yours...

RE: Multiplex EVO Concerns

Personally I would not be put off. As you've said all radio's of one manufacturer or another have the odd bad one. I'm sure if this was a common occurance I'm sure we'd have heard of it by now. The...

RE: L39/Wren 44 Pics and video

Hopefuly yes. I'm going to try and get to some of the events this year but they are a longer trek for me as I live in the NW.

Would be good to see a number of L39's in the air at the same time....
