The U-2 is a beautiful plane. I've always liked the A model best. The newer ones have a much larger wing and stab area and a longer tail moment. Hummmmm..............a scale thermal glider perhaps?

Well, I decided on the SD7037 for the whole wing, cut the chord down to 10" and am most likely going to use a CF tube spar.

Ditto what Mr Mathews said. Spruce used in building is actually lodge pole pine, at least in this area. It NO WAY compares to aircraft grade spruce. If I couldn't find spruce I would only use...

K&S makes a set of small tubing benders that work pretty well. They look like long springs, the tubing fits inside and you can bend it without kinking, to a point.
