RE: Who can guess?

Well the answer to the engine and plane has been given, though not together.

It's a (pumped) OS 91FX in a Somethin' Extra (kit, not ARF). I guess that Sig shape is a giveaway.

It's not as...

RE: Kombat Armadillo, Wing Incidence?

Traditionally, that spacer is made from the hub of a broken prop, something even plastic airplanes are capable of producing.

RE: Dealing with wrinkles in Monokote covering

It took years for me to master the use of the heat gun with various coverings.

When heating the covering you'll have to heat the wrinkle and an area around the wrinkle, because you need the...

RE: Alternatives to Covering Socks?

Baby Socks.

Go to Walmart and buy a pack of all cotton socks for infants.

Pull 'em on the iron and hold in place with a rubber band on the handle.

RE: GP Gee Bee Crash

Well, I just got one of these last week, and I'm looking forward to bolting it together and giving it a try. Sounds like fun! The guy who originally bought it took one look at it, glanced at the...

RE: Big servo problem! Help wanted. Please.

We need more info than this...

Do the aileron servos do that with just the receiver on, or with the receiver and xmitter both on?

Is the glow plug wired up when this happens?

Engine...

RE: Thunder Tiger 120 Pro question.

Not expensive enough.

You just can't join the pattern crowd unless you can lay out big bucks for a YS.

RE: TT 61 Pro - Prop Size

In my crowd 11X6 and 11X7's are more for the 0.50 size engines. It depends whether you want to prop for speed or pull, but I'd run an 11X8 or 12X6 on a 0.61.

RE: There is such a thing as a stupid question.

Generally, yes. The ESC (electronic speed controller) usually offers this function with a BEC (battery eliminator circuitry) output.

There is some heat lost in the controller in implementing the...

RE: RE: Bernoulli's equation

There's a hotshot pilot at our field who torque rolls his 47% extra just above the tall grass on the far side of the runway.

If he does it under normal conditions it looks just like the plane...

RE: Epoxy Fuel Proofing

Zpoxy is the trick! Mixes easily, very thin, hardens overnight.

Once you use it, you'll never use anything else!

RE: Servo problem - help please!!

You can't disconnect the servo motor from the gear train and expect anything but bizarre behavior.

The whole point of a servo is to run the output gear to a specific position based on your...

RE: Cowled 4-stroke muffler - HELP!!!!!!

Well, the two common options are:

1) Leave just the threaded tube tightened to the engine and slip the cowl over that. Then attach the muffler to the tube, you'll be able to get at the nut for...

RE: <span class=

Mine's almost done, but with the weather we have in the Northeast that probably gives me a few months to get the wrinkles out!

This plane is like a negative adverstisement for Monokote, did you...

RE: Do You have a better idea about cowl mounting blocks?

Hmmmm. CA to hold until the epoxy sets. That sounds like a good idea!

I've heard about the Nyrod idea, but never done it. I think I will try it on this project, I need at least #4 screws here. I...

RE: Best way to "unclog" CA tips?

Well, here's something you won't believe until you try it!

Don't cover the tip at all. Leave it open to the air. Shake or blow the last drop out of the tip and leave it alone. Weeks later it...

RE: Illegal radios?

What do you mean that the plastic case had the correct channel, but the crystals were marked wrong?

I don't think our channel frequency is the same as the actual crystal frequency.

By the way... If a "C" you should spy, put...
