RE: Analysis of Hobbyzone/Parkzone electronics

Has anyone found good low cost source for HobbyZone 27MHZ receiver crystals. I use to get them from RadioShack but it appears RadioShack is no longer stocking the XMOD parts including the crystals.

RE: I crashed my cp2 and I boxed it

I would start by checking voltage on transmitter and also lipo battery for ehli. Low voltage can cause all kinds of weirdness.

RE: Analysis of Hobbyzone/Parkzone electronics

Longer leads add stray inductance that can cause induced noise on the PCB especially when the motor is run at partial throttle. Adding additional capacitors across the power leads on the receiver...

RE: Analysis of Hobbyzone/Parkzone electronics

I have seen and replaced defective servos on SUpercub that cause jitters. Please advise if one or both of your are jittering. If only one, try swapping leads to prove that problem goes with servo.

RE: Official Aerobird Swift Thread

Easier to leave servos and plastic carier in plane and just remove circuit board after sliding assembly as far as possible forward to get better access to the screws that hold the circuit board.

RE: Analysis of Hobbyzone/Parkzone electronics

Regarding reduced range and glitching on Swift and AB3 ZX10 Receiver.

I finally found a source of receiver crystals that plug directly into the socket on the Aerobird Swift and AB3 receivers.

RE: Official Aerobird Swift Thread

Couple suggestions:

1. Out of the box with an 8.4V battery, the plane COL is dangerously close to CG which makes it very responsive but has nasty stall characteristic.

2. Plane is much...

RE: Analysis of Hobbyzone/Parkzone electronics

Regarding AB3 / SWIFT RECEIVER

Does anyone know what the small black two leaded device labelled D445-C24 is? (This is different from the 455KHZ filter which is a larger multilead device but the...

RE: Analysis of Hobbyzone/Parkzone electronics

Have not seen that failure mode. The most common failure I have observed is ta the CPU is alive as evidenced by centering the servos on reset but does not respond to valid PWM signal on input pin.

RE: EZ-ESC. HZ & PZ brushless Motor - Keep same TX and RX!!!

I would measure the voltage between the black lead and negative of the battery at full throttle. If the FET is full on (near zero volts) and you are not getting a full power output from the EZ-ESC,...

RE: Analysis of Hobbyzone/Parkzone electronics

So has anyone ever figured out what happens to the CPUs. Seems like a very common failure mode. Valid PWM delivered to CPU but no response. (CPU also appears to be functioning because it centers...

RE: Official Aerobird Swift Thread

Assuming it is plugged in correctly and latches, try holding the release button (upper left) for 5 seconds. (On mine it takes a full count of three before releasing.)

RE: Analysis of Hobbyzone/Parkzone electronics

Great info already posted... couple additional thoghts:

1. Capacitors on motor would not be afffected by reverse p[olarity. (Ceramic capacitors are not polarized)

2. COncurr 100% that the...

RE: Official Aerobird Swift Thread

IMHO - Many if not most of the problems flying the Swift are from flying too slow - largely due to reduced power output of the motor and battery iover time. Might be useful to have some minimum RPM...

RE: Official Aerobird Swift Thread

Receiver of Swift supports standard ESC so all you need to add is brushless ESC and brushless motor.

RE: Official Aerobird Swift Thread

RE: Official Aerobird Swift Thread

2. Lack of air speed will cause swift to roll and crash - not responding to control...

RE: Official Aerobird Swift Thread

Several thoughts:

1. Swift does not use the same receiver as the SuperCub (Aerobird and Swift share the same receiver electronics)

2. No argument that more power would help the Swift. I...
