RE: US Coast Guard - 87ft Patrol Boat "Ahi"

Pat, thanks for the tips. I have been worrying about the topside weight as well, she is fairly tall for her length. Good thing is, the PVC I am using is VERY light for it's strength, so hopefully...

RE: US Coast Guard - 87ft Patrol Boat "Ahi"

Been watching your build, those scale warships are so cool. Guess I don't have a version of that video online anymore, will work on getting it put back up.

If this build goes well, I plan on...

RE: US Coast Guard - 87ft Patrol Boat "Ahi"

See what I get for rounding off the .1" :)

The only problem I see with 1:40 scale is that my hopes of getting some things pre-made, like the armored doors and manhole covers, to save time isn't...

RE: Cabin Windows

Whats wrong with Acrylic? Any local plastics place should have both Gray and Bronze tints. Call and ask if they carry 2074 (dark) or 2064 (light) "smoked" acrylic. If you want that heavy-tint look...

RE: WITCH BOAT, WITCH BOAT!!!!

Are the spinning radar bars on that tug a pre-made part that one could buy, or are they modified / scratch built?

RE: Plexi-glass boat

I know i'm kinda raising the dead here, but for those that may search and come across this.

Sintra (also Celtec, Versacel, etc) is an expanded PVC, while it may sound good it is a weak...

RE: Cut down prop-blade?

I followed the info here and on that link to modify the stock prop for my Hammer EP. It worked great! All the guys at the meet said they definitely noticed that it seemed smoother and a bit faster....

RE: Full size molding?

Way more than you ever wanted to know. For fullsize boats, but most of it carries over.

RE: I wonder...

I would think that the friction would be pretty high on something like this. Unless you mean on the inside of the hull?

RE: what matterials can you build from

How about Cedar? Used to be popular for wooden Canoes (I think there are still some high-end mfg's using Cedar too).

RE: Large Scale Ship Models: Cargo Ships, Liners & Warships

Yup, sure is! :D

Umi_Ryuzuki: Can you post some information on the weapons these ships use? Do you guys modify BB guns or airsoft gun, or is it all from scratch?

EDIT: Read the newbie...

RE: Electric conversion jetted Nitro Vee project

Just for an FYI - Belts won't slip. I use belt drive on my CNC machine, very high-speed and torque - and no slipping at all.

RE: My New Hammer - With Onboard Camera.

That's pretty cool Wamphyrii. Any reason why you decided to go with a Pan & Tilt camera? Gonna be pretty slick when it is done.

I'm re-making the camera tube and mount now that I am back home. ...

I've been trying to decide if I want to go ahead and convert it to surface drive or not. Still undecided.

So,...

RE: Tekin TSC 410S and Aquacraft Hammer

Just came back from vacation and playing with my new Hammer (had a blast) -...
